If we get the 30th Pick from GS should we draft this kid?

This is Chad Ford on him:

Wroten is one of the draft's biggest enigmas. On pure talent, he's a Top 5 pick, a big point guard with excellent athleticism and a power game that gets him to the basket at will. He can also be an amazing passer and makes electric plays.

However, Wroten really struggles as a shooter, plays out of control, is turnover prone and doesn't seem to make his teammates better. While some scouts believe he's the second coming of Gary Payton, others think the risk will outweigh the reward. He can go anywhere from the late lottery to the early second round.

He basically said he was like Rondo coming out. At #30, I think I'd take that. Jenkins and Miller intrigue me but top 5 talent is top 5 talent and at #30, you have to take him.

But, uh, how are we getting he 30th pick?

I guess he means that he thinks we're trading our 28% chance for their 30th pick and something else...Hell I'd do it for just the 30th, but that's just me.

I would certainly take a chance on him in the late 20's if somehow we get that pick. I would prefer to get DMiller over him though.

Rondo never played out of control or was TO prone.

I don't really like Tony. High reward, higher risk. There's some safer picks at 30 I'd rather have, I think. Too bad we don't have a 30.

Don't hold back now.

been discussed ad nauseum and now we're a few hours from knowing if we have a pick .. so I'm exhausted. lol

I guess it isn't true that we'll know, for sure, after tonight .. more exhausted.

I was trying to catch you in your words. I guess you are too crafty for me.

IMO he is worth the risk due to his upside if he isn't that great, we could always trade him for much more than someone who is less talented.

I was just going off of the one article I read. But yeah, more TO's than assists is never good. Nor is 16% from downtown.

I was a big fan of this kid when I saw him on the junior USA team but after watching him in the NIT.... NO THANKS!!!! I saw a very immature kid who actually quit on several plays. He didn't even run back on defense. I didn't see the amazing passes that I saw him make playing for USA. I certainly didn't se top 5 talent. Guys who lack drive/heart and basketball IQ rarely live up to their potential. I wouldn't take him in the first round. I might take him in the second round to see if Wroten Jr. could rediscover his USA game.

Except for the small fact no one will want him by that time. What is the chance a PG who averaged more turnovers than assists will make it in the NBA? Can you think of three historical precedents? Me neither.

I would like to join this club. If he improves shooting and TO rate, he's the PG of the future and a hell of one. But man, he would have to work his butt off at those two things.

AND HE'S A LEFTY

If Utah can get the 30th or an early second rounder, they should get: Tomas Satoransky
Tomas Sataransky (6'7" PG,SG Czech Republic) who was considered the best player in the camp last year by scouts had a strong first day showing more of the same from last year. He appears comfortable in this environment having played here multiple times before. He hasn't shown a great deal of improvement from a year ago but has added some maturity to his game. He is looking more comfortable shooting the ball, and could once again come away as scouts choice as the top overall player in the camp.

It never fails. The less endowed basketball minds' war cry: "OMG SOOO BIG GUYS OK"

Wroten is crap.
