Genetics do matter and do provide indication. Its not really something you can empirically dismiss by pointing at few examples out of the total population. Brother isnt actually the correct direction to look at for evidence, since the anomaly may be the one who turned out to be big. But in this case, Cody would be the anomaly if he stays forever skinny.

I am not dismissing this info because the Holiday’s are different. My point is the that the Holiday’s are actually and way more similar than most brothers just on the basis of them all being in the NBA. Almost every brother of an NBA player is not in the NBA. When they’re are more than one sibling in the NBA, that is an anomoly to begin with. I don’t think Jalen Williams is any more relevant than Kyle’s brothers for example. I can’t find a reason to only look a player’s sibling when it is an anomoly situation.

I’m sure it’s more likely that if your sibling is in the NBA you are more likely to also be in the NBA. But if we actually factored in Jalen Williams into Cody’s draft stock and/or belief in him as an NBA player I believe that is a mistake. If you’re doing that, you’re taking this thing too far IMO.

As far as Cody, he’s an anomoly to begin with because no player his height has ever weighed in lighter at the combine. I don’t care who his brother is, he needs to gain more weight than just about any player who has entered the league. You don’t even need to see a scale to see this. He can’t compete physically and he’s already a low motor guy to begin with. I am positive he will get bigger, but the concern is that he will always be at a physical disadvantage. Like I said, he’s like 15 lbs away from being 15 lbs away.

There are levels to this “frame” issue and I think people are dismissing it way too easy. Not saying you in particular, but just generally. It’s like saying a 35% shooter’s concern are the same as a 15% shooter’s concern. Just because we know something is likely to improve does not mean it will ever be good.
