Top 5 favorite Utah restuarants.

I put Tiburon #1 on my list. This is a place that most people don't know about or they simply drive by it and would never know it's one of the best restaurants in the state. It's in Sandy on 700 E and about 8300 S. Dinky little restaurant, but great ambiance and even better food. Entrees run about $40, so it's a bit pricy, but take your significant other there for a special occasion and you won't regret it. My wife and I usually go there once a year for our anniversary. Oh, and if you do go, I highly recommend the New Zealand Elk.

Heard a lot of good things about Tiburon and about the elk.

I need to go.

Anyone been to that new Brazilian type restaurant at City Creek? I think it has the word Texas in it though.....

I've heard it's worse than both Rodizios and Tucanos.

All style no substance is what I heard.

Went for a work function. I didn't pay, but I seem to recall the prices were quite outrageous for a churrascaria. You're much better off hitting up Tucanos at the Gateway.

Some of our stand-bys:

Javiers in Ogden. Great enchiladas.

Dragon Hill - Great Chinese food in an out of the way place in Syracuse. The lines tell me I'm not alone in loving this place.

Vintos on 2nd South and 4th East (?). Pretty good Italian bistro stuff.

The Bayou - I could eat jambalaya and crawfish everyday from these snitches.

Gabor Brothers in Layton. Excellent pizza.

Tony's Pizza in Ogden. It might be dog****, but I grew up eating it and it still tastes heavenly to me. An Ogden institution.

Pat's bbq, especially on burnt ends day.

Moochies - Love me a meatball sammich

Oh, and Greek Souvlaki.

I only hate AYCE sushi because it has sucked every time I've had it.

I second Takashi in SLC as the best. I haven't had them all, but that's because I'm usually anxious to go back to Takashi if I'm going to go all out on sushi. My wife and I usually bring our own bottle of saki. They are pro enough to handle that smoothly.

Tona Sushi in Ogden is the best sushi in Utah. Hands down. Better than Takashi, and I love Takashi.

Javiers, oh yeah. Ever go to the one right next to the dog food plant?

For Pizza in O-town Slackwater and Lucky Slice are soooo good.

I know many on here would have a hard time believing this, but Ogden has the best local restarants in Utah, period. I live in SLC and eat out all the time, and Ogden owns them all. My top 5:

1. Em's
2. Tona Sushi
3. Eva
4. Lucky Slice
5. Red Iguana

There's a chinese place called Red Maple - it used to be on Redwood, but now it's on 47th south. Good stuff, Maynard.

I used to work in Ogden and that was a regular lunch spot, and then it became our weekly Saturday night dinner spot. They opened a restaurant in Layton so we no longer have to make the Ogden drive.

My wife and I went to Goodwoods in Orem on her birthday. I really liked it, but she thought it was meh. The chocolate cake they gave us still makes my mouth water.

My wife really likes that place and we've been on our anniversary twice, I believe. We sat near Jerry Sloan once.

Have you tried Bangkok Grill in Orem (just off of State St on 8th South). Even a little better than Thai Evergreen in my opinion.

I do like that one as well I lean towards thai evergreen but they are both good to me.

Adding to my list of places I love that I somehow forgot.

The best quick mexican food that has a drive in is El Azteca (the one in Provo not as much the Orem one)

All the breweries in town especially Wasatch in Park City and Squatters.

Lots of my friends swear Stone Ground in Salt Lake is the best place but I have never eaten there, anyone like/dislike this place?
