Antawn Jamison

Julian Wright
Emeka Okafur
Troy Murphey
Jeff Foster
Andre Iguodala
Andres Nocioni
Tyson Chandler
Tayshaun Prince
Jason Maxiell
Andris Beidrens
Marvin Williams
Hasheem Thabeet
Al Jefferson
Carlos Boozer

I wonder if anyone would want these players or if their teams would give them up?

Antawn Jamison and Verajo probably aren't available unless the Cavs want to start from scratch.

Wouldn't touch Thabeet with a 10-foot pole. Jefferson, yes. Iguodala, yes. Foster, yes. Biedrins, yes.

I like Varejao but the contract sucks. No way on Jamison - not a top-2 player for a contender and too old to acquire at that rate.

Did you really just put Carlos Boozer on the potential acquisition list. I realize his salary fits the TPE slot, but...

I like Varejao, the contract isn't great, but it's not terrible. If we could get him, I think we should go for it.

My order:
1) Chandler - long/athletic defensive presence, playing in contract yr
2) Murphey - contract comes off the books, he's like a better rebounding/athletic Memo
3) Thabeet - cheap & worth a gamble...
4) Foster - use the Harping TPE (also contract yr). he can be the best fit as we can start him till Memo is back & use his toughness/energy off the bench afterwards...
5) Iggy/Okafor/Jefferson - I'd only trade for these guys if they take Memo's contract too, otherwise their contract are too $$$
6) ..... the rest aren't worth taking on

MGasol or Horford are the best fits & I think KOC should do whatever it takes to acquire either one.

NO ONE. ACQUIRE NO ONE. I'm sorry but I can't fathom why some people here are interested in picking up players who make 5-10M per and have multiple years left on their contracts when the best they'd be is about a 4th-6th option on a team. We're not going to win when it matters any more with such players so why does it matter.

Save the money this year. Let's see what we have with Millsap as a starter for the whole year. Let's see how Hayward and Miles develop. Let's see if Koufos and Fes (if he's re-signed) can manage to take their games to the next level. We've invested far too much time and effort into these guys not to, and to acquire stop-gap players with ****** contracts as we're closer to getting out of salary cap is hell is beyond foolish.

Hey, I understand the desire to simply get out of cap trouble before indiscriminately spending it on guys, just for the sake of saying you made a move. I get that. But if you think certain guys on that list - namely, Jefferson, Iguodala - would be the 4th, 5th or 6th option on the Jazz - or any team, for that matter - you're outta your mind. That said, it would only make sense if the Jazz dealt away Okur's contract and/or AK's contract to get players like that.

Those are the only two guys who are no better than a 2nd option, and more likely a third one on a championship team. It makes no sense to bring them on. Let's bring in AJ to play out of position at the 5 or as a backup at the 4 at that cost? For what? He plays no defense and is not going to make a difference when it matters. He's not an addition that is part of our vision to a ring. At least I hope that's the FO's vision. And AI? Listen, I think he gets somewhat unfairly ripped on here. But there's no way we should take on that contract when we're just about to get out from AK's. It makes no sense. We have Miles who we've developed for years and is showing real signs of becoming a player as well as Hayward. We need to develop them and avoid toxic contracts.

funny how eveytone wants a big, but doesn't want to pay for it. to bad it's the real world , eh?
