Trade Alec Burks?

No, put Burks at the one!
(Preparing for numerous people to criticize my comment)

If I were the Kings and I were giving up on Tyreke Evans, I might like Burks to step in to help ease the pain.

If I were Detroit and I were faced with drafting McCollum, leaving me with two 6'3" combo guards I have to start, I might take Burks + #21 so that I have someone who can defend SGs and run a two-guard front.

If I were Minnesota and I didn't want to reach for Caldwell-Pope, I might ask for Burks and #21 from the Jazz.

If I were Portland and I wanted to continue my fetish for Jazz players, I'd trade #10 for Burks and have a solid 3-guard rotation with Lillard and Matthews.

Stranger things have happened.

In this draft? Are you nuts, or are you trying to tank for next season (and beyond). This draft is pretty lame. Every player including the top three have pretty big holes in their games; heck, Noel is taller and almost as light as Jeremy Evans. And he's top 2. Can you imagine a player like Jeremy going top 2?

This is not the kind of draft you move up in and we know what Burks has to offer. If he has value to trade he has value to keep.

Stupid. Not you dalamon. But what you just said. It will look pretty stupid in about 3 years.

Keep in mind that I just said I'd take Burke with a first overall pick. I clearly love the player to the point of irrationality.

As far as Burks is concerned, I am not nearly as down on him as someone like franklin is. His old flaw used to be shooting-- he's improved that. Another was shot-selection-- he's improved, but still takes too many pull-up 20 footers for my liking.

It'll be exciting to see if 'his reigns' get pulled off, and he's given more freedom offensively. He has discovered a competent pick-and-roll game for a beginner, and it'll be cool to see if he's been working on it all summer. Since his shooting has improved, I think it comes down to working on strength, and the 'little things', if he wants to make the next step.

I still have hope for him. But I'd still trade him for Burke.

Damn it crackhead. I was with you until you started dissing Jeremy Evans again. You really need to stop that. Hell, you just said it yourself. Jeremy Evans is as good as the top prospect in this draft. Thats not sucky. Their your words, not mine.

Way to twist things to feed your delusions. Jeremy Evans will never start regularly this league, and neither will a lot of the players in the top ten of this draft. Write it down.

I agree with you. I'm honestly not expecting the Jazz to get a starter at #14. I'd be happy if they get an 8th/9th guy out of their three picks and expect one or even two will be end of bench guys or roster filler until the Jazz replace them via trades or free agent signings next season.
