Trade deadline discussion

Remember when some people suggested trading for Wiggins but he was considered awful but now he's an All Star Starter?

To be honest, I never really advocated too much for him but some did.

He is an All-Star Starter but he is barely an All-Star talent.

I mean, based off of all reports, this seems like a fair deal for all involved:

Boston gets Conley and a protected 2nd from Atlanta

Atlanta gets Bogey, Nesmith, Boston's 2022 1st, and draft considerations from Utah

Utah gets Collins and Smart

Boston is so good with Conley and they clear out of the luxury. Atlanta gets a starter, a 1st and we might even send them some future protected 1st. We get youth and athleticism.
That is not a valuable first like they want. Two low 1st isnt the same value either.

I definitely wanted Wiggins. It would have been a huge risk for us but he would be great for our team right now and kind of what we need. He is playing good defense this year and being on a team with solid players helped him. It was a pretty safe assumption getting out of Minny would help him.

We would not have gotten this Wiggins… we would have embraced him and his flaws and told him that he knows what to do… so do it.

There are a ton of players that fit what we need on the trade block possibly. Maybe more than any year for the Jazz. We dont have much to offer though so I dont think we will do much. I also think regardless of how some fans feel the team feels like they are close. I think they dont want to make a major move unless its too good to pass up. I am expecting Ingles and a pick for someone I am not stoked about. But I also think this team can pull things together and get rolling again and with a lot of luck and health they could make a decent run.

I hope we are aggressive until the deadline, but history says we will not, since we never have been.

@baka98

I would love it if we could do that, but Philly wanted Collins and picks and to shed cap space by shedding Harris. I don't think they would leave an Atlanta trade without Collins. Maybe, but I doubt it.

And Atlanta doesn't seem interested in Harris.

I think Morey knows he can get Harden in a sign and trade after the season. I think he has such a boner for him he is willing to wait and punt this year. That is why he's throwing out crazy *** offers because if a team is willing to give 200% of what the guy is actually worth then sure.

I kinda hope the league steps in and starts a tampering investigation. I also kinda hope he trades for James and gets to ride out a broken and overpaid player after punting a season to wait for him. This whole thing is the biggest **** show.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I still really like Tobias Harris and that I think he has positive value to a team. The money does obviously complicate that, but it's not like AK on a six-year max and spending all of his bandwidth using his hall pass and playing WoW.
