Trade for Jabari Parker

If he maintains his current numbers he probably will.

But he won't.
He is getting the max regardless lmfao. 2nd contracts aren't strictly based on how well you performed in your 4th year. It's about future potential. The mere fact he proved he was able to take another step forward developing his game means he is pretty much guaranteed a max.

What part of his game/potential outlook makes you think he wont get the max?

Teams are desperate to keep talent. You dont have to be a top 10 player to get max.

Not sure why so many think Gobert can compensate for poor defense by others. If playing a selfish team, sure. But any decent team simply punishes Rudy for helping by passing to the player Rudy just left. Or if Rudy hedges, just pull up and shoot over him. That latter strategy was happening so much this year. Rudy would often have a hand up, but would be so far away from the shooter that it didn't matter. He was denying the inside, but in essence allowing a wide open jump shot.

So in your own words, he's turning an attempt at the rim, one of the most efficient shots in basketball into a midrange shot, one of the most inefficient shots in basketball. And this isn't somehow helping compensate for a poor perimeter defender ?

If Gordon gets the max then whatever team he is on is gonna suck balls.

Considering his size and athletic ability, the guy has been borderline garbage his first 4 years.

He obviously put in a ton of work this summer and it's translated a bit; but he's not sustaining these numbers. He has no natural feel for the game on offense lol. It's glaringly obvious.

No, its not obvious. This is a guy who was a complete non shooter and now he can shoot 3s. He is a worker and supremely talented. Any team would love to give him a max

Yup, games like tonight are why Gordon is getting a max regardless of his consistency. When you show the ability to put up these stat lines, while being young and athletic, you getting that max.

I've actually watched his game tonight. No question he's getting the max. Running for MIP too.

There is some sort of anti-athlete derangement syndrome than runs rampant on Jazzfanz. Its like because the identity of the Jazz is Stockton and Malone, who's game wasnt based around athleticism like Jordan, then that means we cant think athletes are any good. Just players that play below the basket and play the "right way", are the only players that are any good. With the exception of a few that its too obvious to deny(aka Lebron). Its the same thing with personalities. If the player doesnt fit the idea of what jazzfanz think they should act like then they arent any good either. Its not just the fans though. Its led from the top down. Management thinks that way too and convinces the masses that that is the way they should see it too. Hence the one of the reasons why we are stuck in this pattern.

I think people just forget most players aren't consistent all-stars by their 4th year. The important thing is just that they show they can play at the level for stretches.

And I think Gordon fits the Jazz personality thing you are talking about, so I dont think thats it (or the athlete thing).

i also like gordon. we almost got him too. it's magic. they do some weird ****. look at oladipo and harris lol they are balling. so who knows?

Gordon is getting the max, he is a keeper. They will need to unload some contracts if they want to keep both Gordon and Payton. That Biyombo (17M per year) contract is messing up their cap space.

LOL, nobody had anything to say when he shot 2 for 10 against Boston the other day or 4 for 13 against GSW last week? Looks like good teams shut him down pretty easily.

Look, I never said he's not getting the max - I said whatever team has to blow a huge portion of their cap space to gives him the max will suck hard. And they will.

And you're wrong.

In today's current situation, you have to give a max to a guy at that age with so much potential. Bad contracts arent typically 2nd contracts, they are usually the 3rd or 4th contract.

Gordon is taking 2.3 3's a game and hitting 51%. 51!! The only player with higher attempt and fg% is KD. Not to mention his defense and passing ability.

No, he is taking 5.3 and making 2.3, for 44% (which is more impressive).

He is shooting 51% from the field.

Yes, that's the point. He isn't going to be a world beater at the age of 22 and if you think you have to be at that age to be worth a max, you are ignorant.

Any time would give him the max if he was on their team. It's just facts.
