Trade for Rondo?

i'm in the mega minority apparently, but i'd probably do it tbh. talent and toughness. Quin may be able to focus his issues into some solid play for 15 minutes a night. he'd have to agree to the support role upfront.

Should we get rid of Neto & Boris & Mack & bring in Rondo as our backup PG?

Only 3 of his 14 mill contract is guaranteed next year. Could be good insurance if Hill leaves too.

quick question: are you a jazz fan?

I just quickly browsed this thread, and I saw plenty of people talking about his character issues. Fine. Has anybody brought up that he's pretty ****ty at basketball these days?

Hell no. But admittedly, I had considered this myself just to improve depth/playoff experience/nastiness.

Rick Carlisle couldn't manage him. That's a pretty big deal.

This isn't a buy low opportunity. It's a buy crazy, has-been malcontent. JLIII would be a better addition than Rondo. Heck, let's just give Sundiata another run. Dante Exum is a better option. And so is Mack, despite a few bonehead plays each game.

The trade would be done with the obvious clearance of Rondo receiving a bench role, via Dennis and Quin talking to him directly.

I just think it's a pretty good buy-low opportunity. Isaiah Thomas was said to be detrimental to team morale before the Suns shipped him off.

Buying low isn't much good if you're buying used trash. Seriously mate, Dante is probably even better than him right now in his current state.

Dragic isn't going to accept a coming off the bench role. He is a high-quality starting PG. It would either have to be him or Hill, plus he'd want a ****e ton of money, and we can't afford him.

I was trying to say that, Dragic, would be a nice backup plan if we can't re-sign Hill.

Heat reportedly asking a lot for Dragic. Doubt we will be willing to give up very much for him since Hill had already costed us a first round lottery pick.

Good god no. I wouldn't trade Neto, or Mack or Boris for Rondo. He's not insurance if Hill leaves, he's insurance that Hill, and Hayward will leave.

What talent? And he has the same toughness as Cousins, like the fake whinny *** toughness that is more irritating than real toughness. EVERYBODY who has tried to work with the guy gives up. What makes you think his 6th chance is the one that will take?

His 1st chance went pretty well. He was one of the most important pieces on that championship team. To say he has no talent is laughable. Im not saying he would or wouldnt pan out, but this league is about assembling talent and transforming a nearly talentless mack neto and diaw into a chance at capturing lightning in a bottle would be at least worth considering, imo.

A ball dominant short head case who can't shoot and isn't that quick anymore ?? Meh He's not even yesterdays man anymore, the game has passed him by.

I'm saying it, what talent he may or may not have had while playing with 3 HOF players is gone. I question the talent he had because without those players drawing all of the attention he's been a talent short head case. Neto and Diaw have shown to be pretty smart BB players. Rondo has shown to be a low IQ, talent missing POS. There is no lightning in the bottle. If he doesn't pan out you risk losing both Hill and Hayward, because of the locker room cancer this guy has been. That is a risk the Jazz should avoid at all cost. All of that risk for the very slightest of chance that this guy can be at best a bad fit in this offense.

I actually kinda like this. I wonder what the Mavs would want

Mavs are 4.5 wins out of the 8th spot and now they are almost healthy I think they make a decent run. All the teams between them and the 8th seed are either young, inconsistent or just straight garbage. Hope they make it, send Dirk out with some playoff basketball.
