Trade for Rondo?

Mavs are 4.5 wins out of the 8th spot and now they are almost healthy I think they make a decent run. All the teams between them and the 8th seed are either young, inconsistent or just straight garbage. Hope they make it, send Dirk out with some playoff basketball.

this works for everyone .. give Dirk a send off and they miss out on a high draft pick. Dirk hanging around for too long is going to screw them for the next 5 years.

Should we get rid of Neto & Boris & Mack & bring in Rondo as our backup PG?

Only 3 of his 14 mill contract is guaranteed next year. Could be good insurance if Hill leaves too.

Hell yes I say!

As long as we are talking about Jazzfanz poster Boris and not Diaw. Rondo would be posting some real entertainment here on jazzfanz.

Sorry but this trade scenario is the height of absurdity, so much so in fact that at least one poster suggested it was just a troll thread. Somebody is totally underestimating the abilities of Neto, Diaw and Mack and overestimating the abilities of Rondo based on past glories. Why stop with Rondo? Why not trade half our team to bring in Pierce and Garnett as well? Guys get old ya know, AND Rondo was a headcase even back when he could play.

I'm of the opinion that we're good to go at point guard - a lot deeper at that position than most teams I believe. Dream on with the DWill/Nowitzki scheme as well. Williams is having a resurgent year (he had like 12 assists in Mexico last night) and there's no way that Nowitzki retires anywhere but Dallas IMO.

Low draft picks don't guarantee success, I think having a strong organisation is a more sure method and I dont see the Mavs as an organisation that throws in the towel and decides to lose. But yeh, Dirk would be amazing coming off the bench and with the current arms race between the Cavs and Warriors I wouldnt rule anything out.

He seems like a Cousins type. A problem. Do we really need cancer on this team?

We are about to take off!

At least with Cousins the talent might be worth the risk. With Rondo maybe it was worth the risk 5 years ago or so, but not now.

I'd rather the Jazz make a trade to get D-will back here before Rondo. Rondo would probably hate it in Utah and start acting like a little bitch...

Hey dicks. Rondo is currently outplaying every Boston guard.

Rondo's still one of the most toxic players in the NBA, and he's still one of the worst-shooting perimeter players as well. I have < 0 interest.

He is out playing a 5'7 guard, who is known as the worst defender in the NBA, who just went through a massive family tragedy.

and IT is still averaging 26/5/4 on 49% shooting. i'd argue that much of their failures are because most of his team can barely score double digits so far in the playoffs.

Or defend a team that has no shooting of significance. I hope Gordon is really paying attention to the impact of Gobert right now.
