Jazz
D-Will - Watson - Price
Bell - Lee
Battier - Miles - Hayward/Evans
Millsap - Jeffries
Jefferson - Okur - Elson

Rockets
Brooks - Lowry
Martin - T-Will - Budinger
AK - T-Will - Budinger
Scola - Jordan Hill
Brad Miller - Fesenko - Yao can't even be an option anymore.

Why for Jazz: Sloan has always loved Battier. He is a good 3 point shooter which we need and he is a good man to man defender. He is getting older just like Bell but Battier and Miles can split time at the 3 and Bell and Lee can split time at the 2. This gives is more scoring options at the wing positions. Which we all have wanted. AK has been pretty good for us this year but we need more outside shooting. Okur will be back by the time we could do this trade so Fesenko becomes a bench warmer anyways for the rest of the year.
This improves our man to man defense and 3 point shooting.

Why for Rockets: The Rockets just traded for T-Will and they gave up a first round draft pick to get him. They obviously think he is apart of there future. So they probably want to get him plenty of playing time.
The Rockets have been rumored to like AK and offered McGrady for him a few years ago. The Rockets also wanted to sign Fesenko also this past summer. This gives the Rockets much needed length with Fesenko and AK and also frees up playing time for T-Willl at the wing position.

Thoughts? (Trade cannot happen until after December 29th)

I thought about trying to add battier but he is expiring and I am not sure the jazz should give up anything for a player they could jut sign next year. If we could get lee I might just do it. Good trade

We only have AK for 1 more year also.

Courtney Lee and Jeremy Evans played together at Western Kentucky. Lee was thought to be the better of the two during their time there, so in a Jazz uniform he would be like Ray Allen in his prime, right?

Phew! I thought this was going to be for KMart!

No way not from me. I don't like K-Mart. Takes shots on his own terms rather than within an offense and is bad at defense. I would rather have Richard Hamilton than K-Mart. And I don't want Hamilton. lol

Plus, Kmart makes Carlos Boozer and AK47 look like Iron-men. I swear the guy averages at least 70 percent of a season lost due to his various injuries. Maybe because he weighs more than most of the Jazz dancers.... Which is sad, cuz they're really skinny and hot and I want them.

Mid-season trades will destroy this team's chance of getting anywhere during the current year. The Jazz's offensive and defensive rotations are way to complicated and intricate for a new player to pick up and be successful w/o many practices. We are a quarter of the way through the season and Jefferson is still having issues in the Jazz System.

Battier would pick up the offense easily. Players around the league have stated he is probably the smartest player in the league and he has played against the Jazz for a long time. With Memphis and Houston.

We can slowly work Lee into the system. I think the wing positions are rather easy to learn in comparison to the PF and C. And they aren't playing major minutes like Jefferson is. When the offense revolves around the PG and the big it makes things harder. SG's and SF's don't hurt the team as much during the learning curve.

I like Lee, but his shooting has to become more consistent. I think losing AK would probably be a step back this year. Think Houston might do it for Okur? Salaries would be closer.

The rockets made out like bandits on the deal for twill. The jazz for whatever reason seem to miss out on deals like this

This is a great trade idea. But why in the hell would Houston do this?

I listed how the rockets have been interested in AK and Fesenko. Rockets also have a huge problem in the length department. The bigger teams are taking advantage of them. AK gives them more length and is better than Battier overall and they only have 1 center in Brad Miller. Fesenko could fill that role nicely and they would have the right to sign him to a multi year deal this coming summer.

I do agree that the Rockets might be giving up too much but you also have to understand that they have a log jam at the wing position now. But maybe we would need to give them a 2nd round pick but I honestly think the following.

Battier < AK
Lee > Fesenko

And I think its close on the Lee Fesenko because True centers are hard to find. Jeffries doesn't even play for the Rockets and his deal is expiring.
