Trade Kanter for pick to Nab Doug McDermott? What Ya'll Think?

Chad Ford said that Doug McDermott's floor is Kyle Korver and because Kanter and Favors have not been able to Gell yet, why not pursue this trade. Obviously, we could make this trade more interesting. Let's say we made this trade and also landed a nice vet or a future 1st that's lottery protected. Anyway, I think he's gonna be a nice scorer in the league. He has an elite skill: Shooting. and he will be really cheap on that rookie deal.

Here's a question you can answer for me too: Are we going to be able to pay all these guys? Kanter, Alec, Trey,Gordon, Favors, our lottery pick this year? and do all of these guys fit? In trading Kanter we'd be able to delay that payday and nab a potentially good shooter. We need shooters!

Understand that I am not ardently advocating this position. I am more so just throwing the idea out there.
 
Nah Kanter's post game is too good and can shoot pretty good himself. Kanter is also younger than McDermott.

Yes, we can pay them. The luxury tax is expected to increase in two years.

Even if we overpay Hayward, we can still pay everyone . The '14 draft picks will be RFA's by the time Hayward's new (not inked yet) contract comes off the books. We are positioned very well to keep and pay all of our guys, should they be worth it.

You can't run your franchise worrying about payroll 4-5 seasons away. The focus needs to be becoming a contender. Kanter and the GSW pick is much greater value than Mcdermott. Kanter is younger than Mcdermott and has some very elite skills. He's 21, and I am fully confident that he is on track to becoming a very dangerous player in this league.
 
You have to at least give Kanter and Favors a bit more time to play together. Even though Kanter has struggled on defense in the past when these two play together. I'm seeing a change in Kanters defense. So no. I wouldn't do this trade.
