Dennis Lindsay is smart. After this year Trey Burke would be still 3 more years under rookie scale. Our lottery pick 4 years. Maybe one has to go in fact it seems that Gordon wants to go. In that case you can easily keep Kanter, Favors und Burks...

If you have five players all making an average of $10M (give or take), you still have $22M (in today's money) before exceeding the luxury tax.
So 8 more players to get to a roster of 13. Assume 5 of them are on rookie contracts, some 1st rounders, some 2nd, even a FA or two (like a Garrett, Clark, etc). Put those 5 in at an average of $2M each. Now you're left with $12M for 3 more players. If some of those rookies are decent rotation players, then the Jazz would likely have enough to pay a mid-range FA and then fill the other 2 slots with players at the vet minimum. For example, I'm thinking they leave a pretty good chunk of money to retain Gobert; he may turn into a pretty special player.

Chad Ford said that Doug McDermott's floor is Kyle Korver and because Kanter and Favors have not been able to Gell yet, .

stopped reading after that, twin towers brought a championship to the spurs.
they have not gelled yet because our ****ing retarded coach is wasting minutes on marvin williams

If you guys like Kanter's defense you'll LOVE McDermott's defense. The guy is a tweener. Watch him play defense against other 'elite' Big East teams (yes, Villanova is a good team - one of the few good Big East teams) and you will see....

The only reason to trade Kanter is if we really need to get an asset that we can bundle with our own pick to trade up. If we trade fifth, would a 5+8 be enough to move up to 2nd or 3rd? If not, what is the point of trading a talented young offesive big that we really have no idea how good could be yet?
