Trade Proposal To Continue Tank

Marvin Williams (27 yrs old, 40% from three) to Memphis for Tayshawn Prince (33 yr old 26% from 3)

We take on next years contract and likely buy him out for $3.7M of his $7.7M contract next year.

We get their pick top 8 protected this year.

It could be a lottery around #10-#12.

Marvin is one of the main keys to our success and we need to ensure less success. I don't want to be mediocre in the future. We need a top #3 pick period!

Memphis does to get younger, better shooting and to free up space to grab Gasol next summer.

Only if Marvin leads the Grizzlies past the Warriors.

The goal would be for them both to miss the playoffs. GSW pick shocks the world and jumps into the top 3, then we get Memphis at #10. Draft Embiid, Parker, and BPA.

I don't think Marvin Williams is the problem. I think Trey Burke is the problem. This team is completely different when it doesn't have a PG. The Jazz should send him to the D-League to work on his....um, to work on something.

No way do they trade their pick for an expiring Marvin Williams. Absolutely no way.

I dont think we are doing any trades to eff up our success. I think the Jazz will just take whatever happens. I believe they have more interest in seeing the current players have success than making sure the tank works.

I. Am hoping it is opposite. That they are smart enough not to mess with this tank understanding the short term pain is the only solution for long-term gain. If they keep playing well and conceivably end up with the 8th-10th pick they screwed up! Trade Marvin now, trade Rush soon, play Burke less. Sit Favors with back issues every time their is a team we can beat.

Be smart!

Why is anyone looking to trade BRush? The guy is looks months away from being in game shape.

Other than his early 90's fade hairdo, I see very little to be concerned about with him.

Not only does Marvin not bring this kind of pick, the Jazz are highly unlikely to bring on any salary if they don't want the player for the future. In spite of the rhetoric by some folks, letting players walk is better than bringing on salary you don't want.

Memphis knows they are not making the playoffs regardless, no reason to give up a pick in a great draft. Don't forget that Hollinger is calling some of the shots over there, and he knows how good these college kids are.
