Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

They in the worst kind of purgatory, late lotto purgatory where you perpetually draft mid or bust.
they really need to just move Beal... that deal will end up sinking them eventually.

Now all of you who are just flipping all our players to picks explain few things to me.

If we are left with our untouchables and scrubs only then:
1) Who will we develop with the minutes we have? G Leaguers?
2) If we keep Lauri and Kessler.. will we be able to still lose enough to sink low enough so that it matters
3) If we give away all our NBA ready player assets and are left with just draft picks and untouchables.. how are we gonna deal with anyone in the offseason?

Before anyone answers that we can use our draft picks like currency.. please dont. It only works when dealing with clear rebuilders. You need tradable players to be able to deal with contenders... and this parity leads me to believe 80% of the teams will go into next year thinking they have playoff chances.
Hyperbole

I mean we literally can't just trade for picks... and we wouldn't trade every player... I don't think any team has executed a trade of like 7 players in 3-4 trades... even in the biggest fire sale.
This. Hence the hyperbole post.

I think the idea of Vando is better than the reality of Vando. He gets lost on his defensive assignment a lot. He is not even close to an efficient scorer. Many people confuse activity with effectiveness, and Vando is a prime example of that. He is fine to hold onto, but if you can get prime assets for him, cashing in on that perception of Vando as an energy/hustle guy that does the "little things", then you take it and run.
I agree. I’m not sure anyone would give a frp straight up for Vando, unless it was heavily protected. Like top 20-25 protected

Looking at on/off and lineup data... its really promising regarding Walker and Lauri. Lauri and JC are the guys that make a big difference on offense... Sexton too. Walker the guy that drives our defense... Vando's defensive on/off stuff is super troubling tbh.

Looking at the performance and data there is no way to justify saying Walker should come off the bench anymore. When KO is healthy and if we still have KO/Vando on the roster... there is just no way to say Walker should not start. The ivory tower lineup of Lauri/KO/Walker has good on/off splits.

Anyway... looking at the numbers... if we had a good 3 and D guy to plug into the JC, Mike, Kessler, Lauri group I think I'd be concerned the tank is over and we'd more likely end up top 6 than late lotto. Also, not saying Vando can't fit there for sure... but we should try it if we think he's a long term piece.

1. Kessler is top 15 in the League in win shares. You start somebody like that. Full stop. At this point not even KO thinks he is going to start.

2. We may already have your 3 and D guy on the roster. He's going to take some huge lumps once he gets regular time bit that moment when the game slows down for him finally arrived. I remember when it happened for Ingles, for Royce, and for Rudy. All three were borderline unplayable until that moment.

Sochan a dawg... he had that dawg last year too. I love him.
Yep. I hate the hair but love that kids game. He really takes pride in being a tough defender while being pretty skilled offensively as well. I think we will look at the spurs 2022 draft in a couple years and say they knocked it out of the park on all 3 picks.

Alright... one last one... KO/Vando to Porty for Josh Hart.

Not sure porty wants to pay Hart and Grant. They need help at the big positions... Dame loves Vando supposedly.

Hart a FA but think we could retain him in the 15M range.

Conley
JC
Hart
Lauri
Walker

Sounds really good to me. We end up at #6 and just pray Wolves give us a lotto pick.

No thanks. I would much rather have Vandy than Hart. Also Hart is really small for the 3 spot.

Zero shot that team ends up #6. Closer to the 6th seed than the #6 pick.

He can play bigger than Vando... Hart will stand mfers up in the post... and he rebounds too. I think he is a better defender and better shooter (though he has stopped shooting).

I think Portland likely says no to that trade, but if they figured they were not going to re-sign Hart then its a deal I could see.
