Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I like Trent not sure why we’d try to flip him.

I’d still kick the tires on a Conley for Marcus Morris trade with remaining salary getting sent to Toronto (Rodney Hood).

Donovan/OG/Trent/Morris would be amazing. We’d still have Bogey and Clarkson too. Figure out what to do at Center…

Why wouldn't Washington just trade for Lonzo in this case? Kuz and him are buddies too
They might... but they also have had guys with injury issues in the past and may want to take a pass.

If we got OG and Trent for Rudy, I think we would likely have a better team for the playoffs than we have now. Perimeter play is key, and our current perimeter options are pathetic.

And we would need to be smart with a Conley deal. And maybe a Bojan deal.

Maybe... we'd still need a lot of help with bigs... and we be a little more matchup proof but we also might flat out miss the playoffs.

For the record I think Rudy for Trent and OG is the best win now deal we can make but I don't think it's really available.

This is one of the worst posts I’ve ever seen. Donovan is one of the best playoff performers in league history let alone in the league today. There is a path forward to winning with Donovan. Surround him with guys who can score and play defense (OG and Trent) and we’re off to a great start.
He is a choker though. How many games has Donovan with the game on the line? He's very much a front runner when it comes to scoring. Look at his 4th quarter numbers from this past year (this is the most damning thing and something you cant overlook as it's a massive sample). He's not that guy. How many points did Don score in the final 5 minutes of Game 6 this year?

I'll answer: 3 points, all on FT's (he actually missed a crucial one a well, furthering his choker status).

It's the most win-now talent you can get for now, but it's not going to result in winning games. OG is going to miss at least 20 games and where does that leave you?

I would love to see it just to see Gobert succeed and Mitchell fail so I can laugh in Mitchell's supporters faces.

Conley isn't that much better of options than Lonzo if you are talking injuries......
Yes he is... Lonzo is currently not healthy and has missed a bigger percentage of games than Mike has over his young career. He has a lingering knee issues... has had ankle issues. He's missed around 30 games every year, except 1. He may not have the body that can handle the NBA.

Spoken like a true Jazz fan.

I don’t really agree with this. I think getting 2-3 perimeter defenders would make us better defensively if we are swapping them for Gobert. It has to.
It doesn't have to though... The Raps have like 5 good perimeter defenders and their defensive rating during the season was the same as ours... in the playoffs they were much worse... so tell me how a swap makes us better on defense... also they have no holes defensively. We will have at least one.

I agree... but its the best win now deal. If you told me we could get the best versions of the Hawks, Hornets, and Raps deals I'd take the Hornets deal because I think it has the most upside.

Our defense was significantly worse too. I just can’t fathom how having perimeter defenders who can switch is going to be worse than 4 guys who aren’t great at defending and Rudy. Especially in the playoffs where weaknesses get exposed and magnified.

I’d be cool with this I think. Is there anyway to use bogie and a 1st possibly aqcuired through the Gobert trade to get Collins? What is Bogies value?

Because Gobert was the glue holding anything resembling a defense together and Donovan Mitchell would still be on the team.

If we brought back Whiteside and Dok develops at all, we are covered in the stereotypical rim protecting center category.

Then we need an "okay small ball center" and a "good small ball center". If we are stuck with him and his contract, Rudy Gay could be our "okay small ball center". Maybe we bring back Paschall for minimum too.

Really, all we are looking for is one "good small ball center option".

You misunderstood what I said... their defense in the playoffs was worse than ours... so we could actually be worse. They have a bunch of switchy good perimeter defenders.

I admire how glass half full you are looking at that half empty glass of hotdog water

When Rudy goes to a team of great defenders it's going to shock the league how good a defensive he can lead.

Barnes/Siakim/Gobert/FVV/Yuta will be ****ing dogs.

I don't think his value is that good. I think Atlanta would take Bojan for Capella. Could we.....

Atlanta gets Bojan
Charlotte gets Capela
Utah gets PJ Washington and Plumlee
