Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Those Heat picks will likely be late first rounders, not really a fan of Herro either.

I'd probably prefer to trade him to NY if the package was built around Barrett, #11, and future picks with light protections.
yeah the Heat trade package is pretty meh... I'd wait it out over taking that one.

Realistically getting Barrett or Herro is the main piece of any Donovan deal but we need all of the picks with them. I can say with confidence if we got either one of those they’d have a jump in production and we’d be in the playoffs still.

The Knicks have all their picks though... and they have a history of sucking... they also have a decent pick this year.

I think the Knicks could build a fairly decent package but its 5 quarters to equal a dollar. I think to put all the draft equity the Knicks can they would want to keep Barrett out of the deal. Quickly and Toppin substitute in. Like how much worse is Quickly than Herro? I think Herro is a little overrated because of heat culture and Quickly kinda the opposite.

I'm more intrigued by the picks in any Donovan deal... I also think there is a 99% chance we aren't even picking up the phone if someone is calling on Donovan.

I’m a fan of Herro but we would need so many more picks because outside of him the players in the package are terrible. I want no part of that Robinson contract.
I think the more realistic Heat trade scenario this year is we send Bogey for Duncan, #27, and Gabe Vincent. I think Duncan is likely worth like 8-10M a year so his deal is bad... but if you can get the other stuff maybe it becomes a solid buy low. It saves us some money this year... but costs us a **** ton overall.

I'm curious what is out there for Bogey... he may surprise us and get us something fairly solid.... might be low balling him a bunch.

Strange because he knew when to move Paul and Pierce lol.
Yeah but I don't think the owners he worked for then had unrealistic expectations... or were even involved in any day-to-day things.

If Ainge is untethered then I agree.

Sean Deveney of Heavy.com spoke to an anonymous Western Conference general manager who pitched the Lakers putting a package together for Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic.

“They are giving off signals that they’re not going to go full rebuild, for now at least,” the general manager said. “That is probably just posturing, though, because you know something has got to change. I think you can get (Bojan) Bogdanovic at a good price really, he is 33, heading into the last year of his deal. And he is a reliable scorer, not a great defender but he can give you points. If I am the Lakers, that is a guy you’ve got to at least bid on. It is going to cost you that THT and Kendrick Nunn package plus a future pick, there is no other way to get him. They need guys who can stretch the floor, and he does that.”
Kendrick Nunn could be special for us.

Lol I just noticed I called KG "Paul". Lmaooo glad I didn't get roasted for that.

I'm sure they've been talking about who to move since last season. I can't see how we will keep our entire core. It just makes no sense with the vets getting older.

I agree and not to put words in @Jingled 's mouf... my worry is we know what's out there and it isn't great... so keeping most of the guys might be the option that gives us the best team... so Danny doesn't move anyone meaningful.

I think something shakes loose but wouldn't be floored to see the team not looking much different and have the local media talking about how "they wanted to keep the team together and give a new coach a shot... this was plan A all along and they executed beautifully".

That's bad news for us on many levels.

- that would be one less suitor for Rudy
- Atlanta has no cap space which means they will send players of value to Phoenix
- I was hoping some team would just max Ayton and make Phoenix match and they turn into a dumpster fire while Chris Paul ages

Several teams will pursue Ayton, and Ayton will need to agree to sign there. This is interesting though because free agency and sign-and-trade deals will happen after the draft. So if the Hawks are sending out this press release it sends the message that they won't trade for Gobert before the draft. At least that's how they're posturing. It's like they're saying they've given up on trading for Gobert and they're moving on to pursuing Ayton in free agency. Jazz and Hawks are probably in the heat of negotiations on trade scenarios. Otherwise, there's no reason to put this message out there.

FWIW, Charlotte, San Antonio, Portland and Detroit are also reportedly interested in Ayton. Indiana possibly as well.

Yep. Great breakdown. Very interesting timing indeed on this Ayton release. After just signing Capela to an extension last summer, Atlanta clearly looks to be aggressive this summer.

Its not a press release. Its just rumor season. This could have been Ayton agents. Teams don't get to control every message out there... its not all posturing and spin.

"Executed beautifully" is definitely the kind of description that would be given to maintaining default settings.
And Tony Jones will mock anyone suggesting the great FO and ownership team failed... there will be crying face emojis.

I'd prefer Jalen Johnson over Plumlee tbh and the deal could happen without Plumlee if the Hornets rennounce some of their FA's rights.

But they’re trying to re-sign Miles Bridges so that won’t happen. They will not be working with any Space this off-season. They will need to send someone out for a Capela. Be nice if they sent out Oubre and we got him.

Something like

Jazz get Collins, Oubre, PJ, and Hunter
Hawks get Rudy, bogie.
Hornets get Capela and their 2023 1st back

Though he will delete the tweet when the Jazz decide to quickly change course because something broke and they are able to unload a vet in a no-brainer deal (that is future facing).

I can’t wait to see who will be guaranteed to be in the rotation after another salary dump.

We’re now in the situation of having to dump the guy’s salary that we got in exchange for our last salary dump. We swallowed a mouse to get the spider we swallowed, so now we’re looking for a cat to swallow to get the mouse.
