Mavs got an even sadder situation than the Jazz lmao.
Really got no way to add talent and they are about to lose their 2nd best player for nothing.
They are going to absolutely **** up a generational player.
Luka/Donovan both ****ed their franchises in similar ways (not saying its their fault). But they were both too good too early. Mavs and Jazz never got a chance to draft top tier talent to put next to them. Mavs have absolutely been **** with their draft picks as well.

The Mavericks still have top 5 player Luka Doncic who's 23 years old looks like a future MVP candidate and just led them to the WCF.

If the Jazz would have drafted Bane and Herb Jones though, we would be contenders. I would argue that we would be clear favorites considering we were the #1 seed in 20-21 without Bane, and a good team in 21-22.

I'm assuming Chicago needs more time to build up draft assets. People need to stop panicking. Still a long offseason ahead.

Luka showed that he can elevate a team in the playoffs and they just added Christian Wood. We also have no idea if Brunson will leave or not.

The Jazz could've potentially acquired the 16th or 18th pick this year.
The Hawks and the Bulls were both playoff teams without Rudy last year and we know how much he lifts a teams regular season win ceiling. So if you trade him to either of those teams the picks you get back will likely be late in the 1st.
Also it's not just Rudy there were multiple reports that we were shopping Mike, Bojan, and Royce but that we just valued them way higher than the rest of the NBA does.

The only players that they have financial commitments to past this season are Luka, THJ, Bertans, DFS, and Green. They can waive Dinwiddie and Bullock next offseason and would have almost $30M in cap space.
Dallas is also the 5th largest TV market in the US.

You win with elite star players, Dallas has one of the best in the league. Don isn't anywhere close to Luka.
