Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Like I said I'm willing to bet that we look back at the Brunson deal like we look at the Collins/Randle deals.
They will get an asset for JC… they were trying to move JC for like the 4th and 7th picks… may want to hold off declaring victory there champ

The reality is that they're desperate to move him after they signed him to a huge deal based on a very limited sample size in the playoffs with favorable matchups against the Knicks and an imploding 76ers team.

If they wanted to move him for nothing they could lol…his playoff production was not better than his regular season production. You are writing all kind a ****. If they wanted to dump him for Harrison Barnes they could… they are working to get the best value… there is a difference.

The team has gotten worse since they signed him and they want to move off of him for a real 2nd star player.

We can agree to disagree. I just personally don't remember a team that let an average player walk instead of paying him a max and then fell off or deeply regretted it. I don't think that trend starts with Jalen Brunson, but maybe he is the first guy to do it in NBA history.

Knicks to pursue Dejounte Murray too?

It’s believed that the Knicks could pivot to trying to make a run at San Antonio’s Dejounte Murray via trade or another target of Murray’s caliber using the many draft picks they’ve stockpiled even if Rose, as increasingly expected, secures Brunson’s signature.

Brunson looked pretty incredible when Luka was out. Maybe he's a great starter who has just been decent in Luka's shadow. NY is banking on that. If they sign him for $25 a year as reported, that's less than DAngelo Russell, Lowry, and Kyrie. And it's about the same as Conley. Brunson looked better than all those guys when he was running the show this playoffs.

They're offering him 4 yr/$110M. Reggie Jackson also put up similar performances against us.

It's just kind of ironic that Don's terrible defense played a role in Brunson cooking us and now could be the reason he doesn't land in NY.

So $27.5 a year. They are taking a risk for sure, but I'm just not prepared to call it a bad deal at this time.

Other PGs they are looking at would cost more assets to get but they have flaws (Brogdon and Kyrie).

We can revisit this in a year.
Definitely.

In my opinion, Brunson can be the starting PG on a very good team. He's learned to play "off" a primary ball handler but he can also play some as the primary ball handler.

Much of it depends on who NY puts with Brunson, Barrett and Toppin long term but I like what NY is doing.

Just since it’s a hot topic:

Mark Cuban is being a huge ****ing idiot. It is unbelievable. You always retain assets worth retaining even at a high price tag. And it the bill really is too steep you trade out later.

Why do Celts want Clarkson
They have a terrific three guard rotation of Smart. Tatum, Brown right?
They are trading us Brown baby!!!

Funny thing is Cuban ****ed up. Brunson wanted to re-up on a 55 million $ deal before last season started and Cuban said no.
