Top ten protected, right?….yet
Help me understand why the hate? Is it because he is capable but he doesn't put in the effort? Is it attitude? Or is there more to it?Me being an Aussie jazz fan I will puke if we got Ben Simmons he is the most disliked sportsman in Australia
Dude, he voluntarily sat out most of this year because he had his feelings hurt from the previous playoff. Don’t you see why that might generate some hate?Help me understand why the hate? Is it because he is capable but he doesn't put in the effort? Is it attitude? Or is there more to it?
I want nothing to do with Ayton or Simmons. Culture matters. Trade Mitchell for rookies/young prospects/ and all the draft picks. No more dysfunction in the locker room. Start over and do it right.
And what would be the best case scenario with this pairing?I don't see how Ayton is a flawed center. He is more than capable of doing everything. He is a solid defender and rebounder. Offensively he finishes strong around the rim and is capable of stepping out and hitting an outside shot. He is just a solid all around center. I think in the right situation where he is more of a focus offensively he can be 24pt, 12rb, 2 blk a game center. To me he is the ideal pairing with Mitchell and I would love to give it a shot. If it doesn't work out then we blow it up during the season or next offseason.
This. Or where an Ayton/DM pairing is better than with Gobert. Ayton is nowhere near the defensive presence Gobert is and whoever fills in that gap needs to be ready to cover for all the matador defense they are going to see from Mitchell. And what would be the best case scenario with this pairing?
Better than when we was paired with Booker who is better than DM? Better than when we was paired with Booker, CP, Bridges etc etc?
I don’t follow the logic where Ayton/DM gets a better result than the significantly better team he is coming from.
It is pretty telling that Phoenix pretty much immediately threw him out for trade as soon as the playoffs ended for them.Count me out on Ayton. I think he’s a disaster waiting to happen for his new team.

Incredible how this fan base can so incredibly overrate one player and completely disrespect the other.Other than MJ was far far better of a defender already. He has several all-defensive teams in his career. Mitchell has made it clear he won't play defense, and doesn't care, and had no problem hanging it all on Gobert. If they build around Donovan they better focus on people who can hide his complete lack of effort for half the game. Because they gave up the all-world defender that covered up so many of his weaknesses that he willed us to several series wins despite much of the team doing nothing on the defensive end except funneling everyone to the middle and letting their guy just waltz on by. If they don't fill the massive void left by Gobert we'll be lucky to win 30 games.

Donovan is better than Booker. It's not really close. And what would be the best case scenario with this pairing?

That’s me in a nutshellAnyone else checking their phone non stop waiting for the next domino to fall? I love this time of year when you have a basketball people that you can trust.
He can, but it’s going to take exactly the right lineup, and will he play more within the flow of the offense. As I said earlier this morning, he can be that guy, but he’s not going to be easy to build around.Don can definitely be the main part of our successful future.
