imo, he should play center - that's where he can help a team the most. he can defend 90% of the centers in the league and he can run the floor and make plays in transition better than all of them. Can Simmons play center?
Imagine if we got Ben Simmons on the cheap then Donovan Mitchell convinced him to come out of hibernation and get back to his best days.
We could go from having the worst perimeter defense in the league to having one of the best perimeter defending teams in recent memory (Simmons, Beverley, and Vanderbilt).
If that’s the case, then it might make sense to trade Jordan Clarkson now on his contract and get an asset, and then move Conley into Clarkson’s 6th man role.If Conley isn’t getting moved, it has to be that his contract is seen as negative value that we’d have to attach picks to. Better to rehab his value and flip him to a contender at the deadline if that is the case.
Then let's try that. Good defender, limited offensively. That sounds familiar. But he is more switchable and better passer and can score over smaller players. Then use Vanderbilt as your backup big. And if we need muscle then we have Dok or Kessler.imo, he should play center - that's where he can help a team the most. he can defend 90% of the centers in the league and he can run the floor and make plays in transition better than all of them.
Too bad teams can't have two players on their Designated Rookie Extensions.Imagine if we got Ben Simmons on the cheap then Donovan Mitchell convinced him to come out of hibernation and get back to his best days.

ah that would make sense. just noticed a ton of draft prospect posts from that dude, and immediately thought it was pgab - but catchall was a big draft guy too, iirc.
Can't trade for em... but can have em. Ben is too scary... especially for a team with **** culture trying to change things and rebuild like us.Too bad teams can't have two players on their Designated Rookie Extensions.
This is part of trade negotiations, but if BRK wants all the value imaginable for KD, I don't see where the value comes from to compensate UTA for Mitchell. Ainge should be asking for Ayton, plus at least 2 picks and 2 swaps, for Mitchell.

Which is why whoever gets KD should eat that deal unless there is another suitor that will give something up for it.There's an argument for calling Simmons the worst contract in the league right now.
Ayton only makes sense if he is cheap and we are keeping donovan.Mitchell for Ayton + 2 picks/swaps would be a garbage trade for us.
ThisAt that point, I'd move on from KD. Dude's an all-time scorer, but come the **** on.
