Dude, keep it rational here. You know that's not what I said.

But if you're going down that rabbit hole - Conley's contract is why we gave up a 1st to dump Favors' contract.

and gave up Cy's favorite Georges Niang just so we could pay Conley and bring in his friend Rudy Gay. We were always gonna be in the LT zone the moment we decided to spent 30mil in cap space for a starting PG so is anyone genuinely surprised with all those cheap tax-saving moves? if you aren't ready for it, don't do it. Doing it half-assed is the dumbest thing ever

i mean it's like the whole Crowder vs Conley thing. the fact that it's even an argument kinda sets the point.

comparing the Conley trade itself to 4 bad moves added together speaks volumes for how bad the Conely trade was.

For a role player maybe but not for your suppose "third star" on the team.

Especially when your best player was already putting up historic numbers. Donovan for certain couldn't have given us more in that series. But Conley?

He scored 17 in a game where we lost by 10 meaning had he scored 28 we'd have won that game. A tough ask?

He scored 21 in a game where we lost by 12 meaning had he scored 30+ dished out a couple of more assists we’d have won too.

Not to mention he missed that G1 just so he could be with his wife and kid. A game which Donovan dropped a historic 57pt, 3rd most in playoff history and it still wasn't enough. Had Conley been there for us we’d have won that game and swept the series.

I mean Jingles son had autism but he didn't ask for any leave or put himself above the team. You know even the DeREk fISheR that everyone here despised so much flew into our playoff game against GSW to help us out put together a comeback, which was proven to be the turning point of that series and one of the great playoffs moments. Fisher’s daughter had a legit serious condition too unlike Conley who just wanna to be there for his newborn baby, apparently that was more important than the team that was paying him 30mil+ a year.

There was just so many more things that Conley could and should have given but he just didn't bring it when we needed him. Especially for a guy who's always been the highest or second highest paid player since coming here.

I guess if Conley had been there for that game, he could have at least told Don to get across halfcourt within 8 seconds. So he’s at fault for that too.

or just ask Donovan to drop 68, which would've been the highest point scored by any player in a playoff game ever, we could have won.

I knew somebody would come out with this lame argument. So predictable. Just like Conley not helping us do anything more than Ricky Rubio. $90 million over three years. Amazing.

It didn't matter if he was out with turf toe. Or if he played. Or if he was out with a pregnant wife. Or religious holiday.

Mike Conley didn't tip the balance good or bad yet we paid the freaking farm to get him and keep him.

hating a guy so much to the point that you'd even bash him for one of the greatest playoffs performances ever. man that **** is just low.

Might as well just take it easy like the old Mike. sit on back-to-backs, score 20+ pt then stop, and let there be a blowout. then no one's gonna criticize that 8sec violation any more because the game would've already been over by the 3rd quarter.

I’m not hating Don at all. I’m just a little tired of the hysterical and completely overblown reactions to the Conley trade even three years on. The Jazz took a shot and in the end it didn’t lead to a championship or finals appearance. We had the best record in the league last year. The playoffs were a disappointment because of injuries, but things could have gone differently had we stayed healthy. The Conley trade gave us a chance, but not all chances come to fruition. If Mike hits the game winner in G7 of the Nuggets series, was the trade suddenly good?
Don’t like the deal? Fine. But don’t be so dramatic about it. We weren’t going anywhere with Crowder, Rubio and Grayson Allen either.

How can you argue that the Mike Conley trade and contract aren't the main reasons why we were so asset poor going into this offseason?
