They can’t sign KD. And assuming that Ayton will sign the offer sheet with Indiana, Phoenix basically will not be able to put together a trade package for Durant either.

They can waive and stretch some guys or send a small salary out. I think this is in part to tell Phoenix that Indy ain't waiting on a KD deal... so take Turner for Ayton or we just sign him and move Turner later.

Phx has every potential to be really really bad in 2027/2029. It would take Billy King coming out if retirement for Suns to give these picks away

Maybe... Indiana just put Phoenix on the clock... literally. Do a sign and trade now or you get to match or lose this guy for nothing. Suns played with.... fire!
 
My guess is Indiana would do Ayton for Turner straight up. Phoenix likely trying to snake a pick too... this is Pacers saying "do it now or you effed."
 
Pretty great power play by Indiana. Suns do the sign and trade or end up completely screwed. If they match there were already limited situations for Deandre… Indy actually can’t trade for him for 12 months if matched.

My guess is a Turner for Ayton deal goes down this afternoon. Still keeps Suns in KD contest or gives them a starting center if they don’t get KD.
 
maybe the jazz can come in and pick up turner and send Bogey to the suns or something- pick up an expiring and a few assets for the trouble?
