Those picks could be garbage, and Markkanen could be legit. Even with his health history, that would be a serious risky bet for the Jazz.

If the Jazz are able to trade the other vets, we can still "tank" and retain Markkanen. Meaning we will already have our complementary star in place when we draft, trade, and pursue free agents. I think you gotta keep him.

If westbrook wasn't involved then probably. Thats a tough one though. I, like everyone else, really like Lauri
 
I won't . I like Lauri, he is a really good players. Trading all good players just for an hypothetic good pick is not a good thing. Memphis was having a correct roster before landing Ja and Bane.
Trading vet like Mike or Beasley make sense.

That's a tough question for me. I'm leaning yes, since we don't have a big enough sample size to say that Lauri can keep up his current play. I would guess Lauri tops out as a top 50 maybe top 30 type of player. We really need a top 5/top 10 type of player and that trade gives us more chances to get one.

Lauri has been really impressive so far though. This is really his first chance to play on ball and he's likely to go through some growing pains, but I think he has a lot of potential. So maybe not. Like I said, pretty tough.
 
Why would we ever do anything to help the lakers out , I hope they suffer and get into worse fights then the golden state duo .

Hopefully , they make bricks stay at home , which is a great reflection on his stat pad career , only caring about himself , whilst Lebum looks for someone else to blame , which will be AD

No, they aren't. LA is LA. They can take a **** on Lebron's kids and wifea's faces and players would still run over each other to sign there

I hate the Lakers but them being a good team is in our best interest right now. Ideally we want them to have a better record than the wolves, sixers and nets plus the last thing I want is the Pelicans to get another really good pick. I would love to make a trade to help the Lakers get better this year but I wouldn't put Lauri in the deal. He is still young enough to be part of a rebuild and he has the potential to be so damn good.
 
Doesn't seem DA wants to do a total teardown. With that said, in the search for a #1 franchise player, I would trade anyone on the roster for the right price. Do Laker uprotected '27 and '29 picks have more value than Lauri moving forward?

As teams do more film breakdown on the Jazz they are going to see that Lauri and to a lesser extent JC are the main guys that need to be defended in the current starting lineup. For that reason I can see Lauri's production go down as other teams start game planning for the Jazz.

Yes this is where we see what the new coach can do. Can he figure out a way to keep Lauri relevant when he started drawing constant double-teams. Also, can Lauri figure out how to break the double-team, as with Houston he kind of just got penned in and didn't do much to get free, but he did have some nice back-cuts. Also, can Conley figure out how to lead the team to open shots when the defense collapses on options #1 and #2? On these questions hang our season for the most part.

It is tough… Lauri and Mike for both picks also opens up a bunch of cap space for us. Not that we will do a whole lot better. It would be selling high on Lauri… at least I think maybe a little. I know some think those picks wouldn’t be valuable but I think they’d be likely the most valuable picks in the pick portfolio.

If we put Lauri in I want 27,29 and a swap in 28… we end up getting a top 5 pick this year… instead of a top 10ish pick and it’d be worth it… but I’d love to find a different way to get those picks.

I don't think they throw in one first for that... proposed that type of deal earlier but made it a 23 swap and seconds. They own the worse of their pick or NO... we could swap with the Philly/BKN pick or the Minny pick in that scenario... so likely would move one pick up a bit maybe?

I think we could get one pick by doing Mike, KO, Beasley... maybe? Maybe it'd have to be JC instead of Mike. Those picks should have fairly high value curious if they part with one or both at some point.
