Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I'd steer clear from Kuzma. He'

No doubt, but I think Kuz has an extra hard on for the Lakers
Well, he has tasted of the fruit of the promised land. He will definitely crave it more than someone who hasn't tasted it yet.

What is the most you would offer for him?
Personally I probably would not offer enough to get him. He’s unrestricted free agent at year end and I think we could use him but he’s not THE guy that I think we need. If it was say THT and the Brooklyn pick I’d understand it. They probably can do better. I might hold out until the offseason and work a sign and trade if we really wanted to.

I’d be more inclined to get a guy headed into restricted FA like PJ Washington.

Given how Caruso was a daily fixture on ESPN for a bit, and finished high on fan All-Star voting returns and everything, I would be fascinated to see Ingles status if he came up on the Lakers instead of the Jazz. I think a sassy unassuming Australian hooper would have an animated series, a line of merchandise, and just be an icon
Speaking of Caruso… if Bulls wanted to tear things down I’d be happy to take the Bald Eagle off their hands.

Not too much in here... but don't read if you are lamenting that we sold low on Bogey. He may not get moved but if he does it will net a pick.

Again mention John Collins and Utah having interest but no particulars. Mention Phoenix is interested in Collins but not his contract (second time this has been mentioned and its effing hilarious... like WTF is that?) Said Nets have been poking around Collins but Atlanta is not interested yet on the Harris component there. My guess is the offer would be Harris, the pick Brooklyn owns from Philly in the future, and cap filler. I am telling yall... Atlanta will do a cost cutting move for next year. If Harris' contract was expiring I bet they'd take that deal.

Still shocking to me we couldn't swipe a couple second rounders at least. Pistons really wanted him and really want to keep him... so they won't sell low. We should have waited or gotten a bit more. I get that they promised him to move by training camp but it isn't like he has kids (iirc) so didn't need to get them in school and ****.

Just weird how patient we are sometimes and then how we jump the gun. I think DA also wanted his guy in KO... but still nab a couple second rounders since he have none and they can grease the wheels in other deals. Same with the THT deal.

The Bogey trade was abominable. We know why they did it though. Ainge gets his guy and he saved Ryan 5M. We had a Phoenix offer on the table to get Crowder who’s likely a better trade piece than Olynyk and a 1st for Vando. I know the first was heavily protected but you could have talked them down to lottery protected I’m sure. Now we have guys saying they would trade him for a couple of seconds.

I think we under-valued Bogey and likely over-valued Vando in all those talks. I also think we could have nabbed one of the Lakers picks. I would be fine with both deals (THT and KO) if we had nabbed a few second rounders (LA actually has a couple decent ones).

There was some cope about the trade when we started hot. Ultimately, that trade will have done nothing for us long or short term. We had $100 worth of McDonald’s gift certificates that expired in a month and traded them for $25 worth of Taco Bell gift certificates that expire in 6 weeks. We could have hung out outside McDonald’s and sold our gift certificates and at least collected $50 cash.

Will only amend this to say we got $25 in taco Bell gift certificates but Ryan also got a $10 bill in the deal. It was about money and getting the fast food option DA prefers... when in reality we could have just waited... or as you mentioned cashed out in front of the mcdonalds. It was beneath us though... so we didn't want to do that.

They could've sent Fizdale out to go sell them. Or at least told everyone he was the one with the idea and did it. Then they could even throw out a few attaboys and "man, look at this guy serious about the grind! What a worker!"

KO is the guy in this team that is the absolute best fit to Hardys offensive system. Better than Lauri, JC or Conley.

He can both create for others and score effectively from catch and shoot. His lack of defense and rebounding were also known facts, but its not like Bogey was excellent in either...

Plus we had Beasley as a younger 3PT specialist already acquired.

To be fair, Kelly Olynyk has been one of the better stretch 5's in the NBA season and I doubt anyone saw Bogey have a career year at age 33/34. KO has also made everyone on the team much better.

If Utah had no intent on extending Bogey (which I would get, he's going to be 34/35 and 36/37 getting paid 20 million a year, that's kind of a gamble, and he occupies the same spots on the court Lauri does (though I think it probably would have worked just fine tbh, but I get them wanting to keep those minutes freed up for Vanderbilt/Kessler/Simone)). Kelly Olynyk is still on a contract that's great for trades for the next 2 seasons. I think the KO/Bogey trade was solid on a lot of different levels, even though it still feels like an undersell given how good Bogey has been.

Also got to commend Ainge on seeing that KO was undervalued. Who knows if we actually trade him, but we have definitely raised his value significantly. There's a lot of team KO would be an absolute A+ fit for (hello Pelicans, you have a million first rounders. You need a stretch 5).

In Vando’s case we had $50 worth of McDonald’s gift cards and were offered $40 cash yet we declined because we thought it was worth $50 cash.

And I am not a KO hater. I didn't like the trade because it addressed a position of need and stretch 5s are actually a cheat code for mediocre teams to win more than they should. I would have preferred offloading talent for picks to ensure we could be a bottom 7-8 team without too much nonsense.

I would have tried to squeeze Detroit and LA if those were the guys you wanted. In a vacuum even with an extension... Bogey is a better asset than KO... even if KO was "undervalued".

The money was a good part of the "value" in the deal and none of us really get the benefit there... only Ryan really.

Something like this would be intersting.

A future pick in 2024 (Ainge said this draft was better than 2023 in an interview before the season started) and a 2nd rounder from Chicago. You get off Rudy's Gay contract. Temple can be waived at the end of the season as his contract next year is non-guaranteed.

Not a Graham fan at all, but dont think his contract is bad enough to warrant New Orleans giving up an additional first.

You could also just do Temple/Hayes/1st for KO straight up if you didnt want to offload Gay/take on Graham (probably preferable tbh)fanspo-nba-trade-machine-snap_12-12-2022_11-59-52AM.png

Yeah, KO actually has been elite offensively this year for us. It’s more so of the fact that we settled when we could have squeezed a little more out of both deals.

Also, we are kind of low on JV as a forum, but we are probably underrating him a bit.

He's having a career year while being asked to do a bit too much on both ends. His On/Off defensive numbers are heavily skewed because he plays against starters and never plays with the most impactful defensive player (Walker Kessler).

Speaking of Caruso… if Bulls wanted to tear things down I’d be happy to take the Bald Eagle off their hands.

Bald eagle lol.

Speaking of eagles, I was fishing last monday and while i was walking along the river i looked up and saw a golden eagle diving from about 150 feet up and simultaneously heard a turkey screaming in terror so I hurriedly got my phone out and started recording.
Filmed the Eagle in pursuit of the turkey. They flew across the river and the eagle was closing in and the turkey did the smart thing and just crashed straight into some bushes forcing the eagle to pull up.
I saw the turkey come out of the bushes right next to me.

Then i looked across the river and saw a huge flock (probably 20-30) of terrified turkeys hiding in some bushes. So i decided to try to flush the turkeys out and see if the eagle was still around to attack.

I walked to the edge of the river and started shaking some bushes and got the turkeys to fly. All 20-30 of em. Sure enough the eagle made another appearance but this time didnt have the speed that it had earlier from the dive from above and it had no chance at actually getting any. Pretty cool to see though.

Caught a couple fish that day. A nice sized brown and tiny cutthroat. It snowed the entire time i was there (about 5 hours)
I had a blast
