Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I'll never understant these takes. Are we watching the same player?? Vando is terrible. You could replace him with a ****ing chair out there and the chair would be more of a scoring threat. (Not to mention it wouldn't insist on dribbling the ball up court for no reason after a rebound.) Maybe there was a slight chance of a first when this team was on fire to start the season, but lately JV has been exposed and his trade value has fallen off a cliff.

What a weird post. Vando has had some stinkers lately but he also has the 2 best games of his career over the last 7 games. He hasn't been remotely exposed or had his trade value crater.

I would like to unload Clarkson now while we can get assets. His bipolar swings of great and horrible games are getting more severe. You have no idea what kind of game you are going to get from him. His defense is ****ing horrible every game. I mean, the crazy hot chick is fun to date for awhile, but not the kind of girl I want to take home to @Handlogten's Heros mom.
Nah.

The Jazz do need to put Clarkson back into his proper role, but they shouldnt trade him if they can extend him. I think he's going to be a good player for years to come as a 6th man.

I will say this about John Collins:

A great case for pursuing Collins is that the ultimate version of what the Jazz could be will be a team that heavily features Lauri Markkanen as the 5. Doesnt mean he will start at the 5, but he will close at the 5. John Collins could theoretically be a good compliment next to Lauri as a 4. Still the thing that holds me back on Collins is that he isnt a good passer. Dont see him as being a very high IQ/Feel player. Also dont love a starting trio of Collins/Lauri/Walker.

I think that *could* be something worth pursing. I'm currently flip-flopping in my head about how good Walker Kessler can actually be. I think he might cap out as someone you want playing 25 mpg (and being super effective in that role), not someone you want to be a full-time starter who is 100% finishing every game.

The more Lauri has to bang with true bigs on defense, the more his offense will suffer. Markkanen is a 7 footer but he doesn't really have center size or length. Someone like Jokic looks like a giant standing next to him.

Well, the top 12 in this year's draft maybe..maybe is the key word..better than Collins. I think he is a proven quality vet. So if we give up the Brooklyn pick to get him, I think that would be an upgrade. Vando...Vando may have better longterm value so I would be hestistant to move him. THT for Collins yeah go for it.

I bet Joker is closer to 270 right now but the 240 for Lauri is probably accurate. Why anyone would view Lauri as more than a spot center makes no sense to me. He is a pf.

Sure, like I said, I think WK is probably like a 25 MPG center. That leaves 23 minutes per game for another center, which would be some amount of Lauri Markkanen. A fully fleshed out Jazz roster would simply be unstoppable with Lauri at the 5 if you can put the right pieces around him.

And the option of going big would always be available as well, if it was needed.

With the influx of skilled 6'10+ players you are going to see a lot more interchangeable 4/5 types and teams playing two of those players at once.

This is interesting. I think a Lauri/Collins/Kessler big man rotation would be very good.

If all three start but Collins gets a decent amount of minutes at the 4 next to Lauri at the 5 it could work extremely well.
