If they could’ve gotten a pick swap this year and a more interesting prospect, I think this would’ve been a great trade. As it is, they consolidated guys they’re not going to keep for a high value, lightly protected future pick. I’m pretty sure that’s what DA’s priority was. In those terms, it was a home run. Very few teams are going to part with an asset like that for 3 role players. Here's what I think:
1) Jazz want to tank for this draft.
2) Jazz want Lakers to increase the chances that the Twolves' pick ends up in the lottery
3) Jazz want off Conley's money for next year
4) Jazz are done with Vanderbilt and aren't keen to re-sign Beasley either.
I didn't say that... I just don't think people understand the amount of cap space we cleared and are just looking at Russ' 47M deal. Its expiring... with $60M we can buy a few Beasley's, Vando's, and lock them into longer deals. It’s ok to punt on a trade because we did well before?

Its 100x better to do it the way we did though.I mean... If we wanted to tank in exchange for a protected first we should have done this much sooner.
You and @Handlogten's Heros need to be put in jail lmao. This is an absolute amazing deal for us.
Make that three of us!
Explain plsIts 100x better to do it the way we did though.
How is a top 4 protected pick in 2027 for Conley, Beasley, Vandy, 2 future 2RPs, and NAW a good deal lolThis is an absolute amazing deal for us.
Plus we gave up two second rounders to the wolves? All of that for just one protected Lakers first?
Who cares what the protection is, there’s a good chance the lakers are going to be super badI need to know what the protection is on the pick and what it conveys to if it lands within the protection.
I’m being dead serious when I ask this, but help me understand how this is a home run? This is a homerun...
