Trade Snyder for 2nd round draft pick! We need Frank Vogel!!!

Not sure his replacement is any better. That butler over herb jones move looks worse and worse with each passing game.
We don't know that Jones would have gotten any PT. The issue here is more one of no development for our pick. I think Butler could have been much more impactful but he never really got a chance. I'm not convinced Quin would have been willing to play any rookie since he felt he already had a winning system.

He had Conley, Mitchell, and Clarkson playing ahead of him. Yeah, playing Forrest ahead of him was short sighted. But it wasn’t like Butler was a unique talent coming to a position clear of competition. He was an undersized offense first guard; so basically the same as the other 3 guards playing ahead of him.

True, we had Royce and Jingles at the time, but Herb Jones offered unique talents and the competition was a lot lower. Had we drafted him and Q hadn’t played him? Then I think we could blame our coach as the primary culprit here. Instead, we drafted someone who’d only play if major injuries hit our backcourt or if we traded away a member of the backcourt.

While I think the zero player development from our coaching staff is a contributing factor, I think the main problem has been a FO just completely whiffing on drafting talent. You can’t Whiff like we’ve done when we’re trying to make the final moves for a championship run.

I just don't think Quin is the right coach for where this team is right now. When Rudy and DM were babies, sure, it worked, but it's obvious that he can't motivate them like he needs to. We haven't had a 'WAKE UP!' moment for years.

His over-reliance on analytics to a fault is also troublesome.

Friend is a season ticket holder and had some meet and great with Ainge and Ryan the other day. Ainge was asked about Quin going to LA (it was phrased using some betting odds) and said he'd bet Quin would be the Jazz coach next year... seemed fairly dismissive.

Its obviously what you would say to essentially a fan asking a question like that so take all the grains of salt with it... but it lines up with what Tony Jones and others have said.

I think Quin has checked out and has his exit planned... I'm guessing he'd want to get fired to get his money... I'm guessing Ryan doesn't want to pay two coaches. I think its a little bit of a staring contest that ends with Quin asking out to take a job with the Lakers or Spurs and Ainge asking for something to trade him.

I’m content with just forcing Royce and NAW in the deal to salary dump.

Quin leaves or is fired, we go bold and hire Becky Hammon. Perfect hire for this team.
It would have been cool and probably not a bad decision but Becky Hammon took a coaching job in the WNBA last year.

Getting rid of Snyder is the low-hanging fruit of this offseason. It’s very discouraging that the FO is STILL set on bringing him back.

Like I’ve said in other threads, I am not sure what’s going to happen this offseason, but I am fairly certain it’ll be disappointing.

Maybe if she coaches both she’ll earn the same salary as a man coach?

I think he's the guy if they're gonna **** around with retooling. Someone has to really lean into getting players to play defense as a rule, not a soft suggestion.

The DL and Hayward suggestions are comical (especially considering how it was DL's genius idea to not give Hayward the max extension that seems to have poisoned the well).
