Trade SZN

Your recollection sounds about right to me, but I still beg to differ on the interpretation. He was under contract with us and we let him out of the contract period. Meanwhile, her Dr was in New York and he signs with LA? It’s not like she would have been left to perish if she received treatment in SLC in any event. Fisher wanted out, wanted to go back to LA apparently, for whatever reason. The daughter’s illness likely played a role. But we just cut a starter, he signed with LA, and was a starter on LA’s championship team. Sounds like a give a way to me.
Fisher was a scumbag and the rest of his story proves that out. He lied to get out of his deal because he didn't want to be here. Miller believed him because who lies about their daughters illness and Fisher made more than he was worth tbh. So he lets him out of his deal. We didn't help them...

I call Shaq right this damn second and do a 3/12M deal. That type of contract isn't done very often and I think its an oversight. Its twice the minimum and you lock in a rotation player with potential for cheap. If we give him a minimum then you are competing with everyone else.

It is also apparent that Chicago does not know what the **** they are doing... we should be calling them everyday. That was the guy in Denver that answered the phone for DL (complete guess but I'm going to state it as fact).

Same reason that NY would let Frank go and didn't play him more than 20 minutes even though their team is a tire fire.

he might end up being good but he's not a guy a playoff team should rely on. I know you really like him but that Island is getting lonely.

I don't think Dunn is that much better than Frank. Both play on bad teams although NY is worse. I think both these guys can play an important role for us. We need defense in the worst way.

If we had one more really good perimeter defender playing 12-15 minutes per game, we beat Denver.

So Denver give Valentine the QO but not Shaq or Dunn? Bulls gonna Bull I guess.

I swear if Shaq gets the minimum somewhere that isn't Utah imma be pissed. The GM's job is to find these guys... you can always sign the established guys... finding the next guy is where the money is. Shaq is a great 3 and D option and has some other stuff to his game that is interesting. Get it done DLJZ!

this is their thinking... I am thinking we should be calling them every damn day if this is how they think. Whispers: you can clear roster spots a number of ways... why not keep useful players and look to offload less useful players... this is what bad GMs do and we want to do business with bad GMs.

Goddamn Chicago is a mystery.
They were plus 12.2 per 100 possessions with him on the court... defense was 8 pts per 100 better. He plays multiple positions and could be retained for a minimum offer, but any time you can pay Denzel Valentine 3x that to sit in a suit you have to do it.... Right?

From Hollinger at the athletic... the number is what his analytical formula says his contract value should be... per year.

Shaquille Harrison (R) Chicago — $8,825,696

I know this number is going to shock a lot of people, especially those who didn’t watch the Bulls. Whatevs. Shaq Harrison is unorthodox, but he can play. I think he’s the most underrated free agent in this class, somebody who might sign for the minimum or not much more but deliver significantly more value in a high-end bench role. (You know he’s good because Phoenix cut him to sign Jamal Crawford.)

Okay, seriously, back to Harrison. He’s oddly similar to Dunn above, in that he defends like crazy and is pretty good in transition, but hasn’t nailed down a position in the half-court quite yet. Certainly, he’s a secondary playmaker and not somebody you want on the ball, but Harrison also suffers from a wonky outside shot that he converts 29.3 percent for his career, although he boosted it to 38.1 percent on 42 attempts last season.

Those are concerns, especially when you start thinking about playoff games, but I think his defense and manic energy are at a high enough level that you can live with the minus shooting. Over three seasons, he’s played 2,298 career minutes and been consistently productive, rebounding like a player three inches taller and boasting a career rate of 3.1 steals per 100 possessions.

If you want to dig in more on Harrison, read this lovefest by our Jared Weiss, who is hoping the Celtics pursue Harrison with their taxpayer MLE.

I have no idea what Chicago is doing but read they are in the market for a veteran PG. Also, some Bulls fans on Twitter said Dunn didn’t want to play there. Why you keep Valentine over Shaq though I have no idea.

There’s very few owners if any that wouldn’t have chosen to let him out of his deal to be closer to his daughter in her time of crisis. Lol

the jazz had no part in helping the Lakers. Fisher lied through his teeth and manipulated Larry H. using his freaking daughter, ****ing low life.

Outside of a rookie were basically going to have the same team as last year me thinks.
going into a condensed offseason thats a good thing ...

tho often i think this type of "experience from playing together" stuff can get a bit overrated/out of hand.

So then let’s make a trade of Conley for S&T KDunn and OPJ. Use our MLE on Shaq and our BAE on Baynes. Done.
