Trade to 5 for Jarace?

Do you remember that game they played on Sesame Street... which one of these is not like the other...and they'd have a banana, an apple, and then like a baseball bat... that's what this reminds me of. I don't want him traded btw... I'd likely just stand pat at 9 as it looks like things will break in a way that we can just hang out and get one of our guys. With 16 we might benefit from moving up, but the Ringer has Wallace there and ESPNDX has us with Bilal... I might just chill at 16 too.
My source tells me we are trading up for Hendricks if anyone so that should make you look like a ****ing genius

I'd rather pick Whitmore or Amen (if either of them go 4) if that's the case, though I wouldn't be that upset if it were Jarace.

I think Jarace is an awful fit for Detroit so I hope they recognize that and let the Jazz take him

There have been a handful… Luka obviously… Jarrett Culver was another. It varies wildly. The cost is usually one good pick… so would you do #9 and 2025 Cavs pick? Maybe? It requires a willing seller… there are teams that make bigger offers that are rejected.

If they’d take 9 and Ochai I’d do that… if it’s 9 and an unprotected future pick I will pass… if the target is Walker anyway, but that is a reasonable, fair offer that is in line with historic comps.

So if we move up to 5 I will say it is Ochai/28/9 for 5 or 9 and a future pick for 5.

Really, it wasn’t Luka. Didn’t the Hawks trade up for Young, and Dallas traded back?

No... Hawks got Young and the pick that became Cam Reddish for trading back with Dallas. Dallas traded up.

If I'm Detroit, I ask for Ochai + 16. Maybe 28 also.
we are not giving up esentially 2 lottery level prospects at 9 and 16 in a loaded top 20 for one at 5 imo. Not unless they think superstar is the floor for the guy. I don't see it with Jarace.I think he could be a beast, but not a franchise guy. Trading up might happen with futures and maybe even 9 and 16 bu at that point it has to be someone better

Honestly I could be talked into just about anyone at 9. Or even moving up for Walker as we could use some toughness and I wonder how much Marcus Smart (different positions, obviously) type value Ainge sees in him. I sort of like this idea as he can pass, rebound, defend multiple positions, shoot a little, and is young af. Do this and we have our frontline. Then, maybe we pull off the trade with Dallas to snag 10 and can get Wallace (my choice) or Bufkin there. That could be a franchise altering draft and we’d still have a crap ton of future picks in the coming years.

My biggest issue with Walker is his quickness, really lateral quickness most of all, as well as his lack of bounce.

it's looking more and more likely whitmore could fall to the jazz.
I dont know how it all works but lets say the jazz really want whitmore but they think he could fall to 9 so they stay put. Then Cam is drafted at 5 or whatever. Could the jazz offer detroit #9, #28 and a future first for Cam after he gets picked?
Im assuming the answer is yes so i would just stay at 9 hoping my guy falls and then if he doesn't fall I would offer a trade. Where is the downside to that?
