Trading Favors and Burks?

I am sooooo tired of hearing about Kevin Love trades. Love was meaningless in the playoffs. Favors was instrumental to the Jazz beating the Clippers despite his injuries. Kevin Love is not a winner. Yes he has a ring, but so does Javal McGee. I'd rather have Booker back than have that bum.

Love averaged 23 and 12 in the Conference Finals.

The good news is both are still 25 (both turn 26 in July) and so they're still young. I feel Burks is more expendable but I won't be upset if we hold onto both coming into the season if there are no decent offers for either. Odds are, at least one of them will play well and remain healthy.

Adam Morrison has two rings riding pine.

Love was 100 times better than Favors in the playoffs. Jazzlurker should probably go back to lurking.

What do you think it would take for the Jazz to get involved in a three way deal between Indiana/Cleveland/Utah so we could get Love?

Indiana apparently doesn't want Love
I think Utah would like Love and would be a good fit for us.
I think Cleveland wants PG13.

From Utah
Favors (last year on his contract, we most likely cannot resign)
Future 1st round pick
Diaw

Utah Gets Love
Indiana Gets Favors and Utah 1st rounder
Cleveland gets PG13 and Diaw to give them budget flexibility

I don't know what Cleveland is asking for Love, the Diaw asset might be more valuable than at first glance giving them flexibility for additional resources.

Favors is a free agent next offseason. We can't wait a year and then trade him because we won't be re-signing him. I think that the idea that his stock around the league is at an all time low is a joke. He's 25 years old and averaged 16 ppg and 8 rpg in both of the two seasons prior to last year. Unless his injuries are career threatening then other teams are very interested, believe me. I think now is the time to move him if the Jazz want the best value for him. At the deadline they'll be lowballed because other teams know he'll be hitting free agency.

With Alec Burks you may be right. Waiting may be the best option. It really just depends on if we need that 10 million cleared now to make another move.

This...

Waiting a year for favors value to increase means he is an ufa.

Favors has value now at the prime... 26, expiring contract, nearly a 20/10 player, defensive anchor, etc. He has value.

Pacers aren't going to trade 1 year of PG for 1 year of Favs. A 4th team would be needed

Maybe as a starting point

Cavs get George
Jazz get Love
Portland gets Favors
Pacers get Salary and multiple picks

No need to trade Favors. We will most likely get shafted. Never sell low.

Favors will be hungry, and this year will be a career defining one. Dont we want him for that?

I want Favors to have a career year, and both parties benefit. He gets a huge contract probably with someone else, but
we still benefit from his monster contract year.
