What's new

Trey Lulz

I actually thought he looked like he could turn into a pretty good player. He looks athletic, if weak. Good to see him get some quality minutes, which should incentivize him to work hard and improve.

But Hayward, the team stud, not being able to hit a 4th quarter free throw didn't kill us?

Okay.

Lyles is a rookie. Not a very good one right now. To put this game on him while Hayward missed gimmes is just full-out Jazzfanz stupid.

Temper expectations, morans.

What about Alec Burks missing a wide open layup that led directly to a fastbreak layup by the Heat?

Does anyone want to point out hilarious it is that we are mad at a coach for playing a rookie no matter what when for the past 20 years we where livid Sloan/Corbin never played rookies.

Be careful what you ask for.

Pose your question in a well thought out, less arrogant way and I'll respond.

Allow me to model the correct behavior:

"Kind sir, if I may have a moment of your most valuable time. Please explain to me your viewpoint on the relevance of missed free throws to your overarching thesis. Anxiously awaiting your considered response. Best regards.

I'm not mad at him for playing him. We already drafted him. Gotta try to get something out of him still. It just doesn't look like a good draft pick. Not now, or when it happened.

As I said a while ago, Booker needs to push Lyles around in practice. Lyles may be a nice, humble guy but so are Favors and Burks and they're playing like beasts.

I think feeding Lyles the ball and forcing him to be aggressive is the best way to go. I want to see Lyles get Booker-like nasty.

8 games into his rookie season and averaging under 8 minutes a game is not enough to make any kind of assessment.

He doesn't even deserve those minutes. Hell be sent to the D league probably soon. He's playing like garbage.

Love the direction this team is headed. Or Jazzfanz anyway. The usual cynicism and angst has returned!!!!

Depends on the rookie and who else is on the roster.
For instance, I think d-will was a better rookie than trey lyles and milt palacio and keith mccleoud are worse than gobert, favors, and withey

Found this article, good reminder.

Lindsey after the draft of Trey Lyles:

As they have upgraded equipment around the arena and practice facility, the Jazz are now testing proprioception ("just a fancy word for balance," Lindsey said). Of the 101 prospects who worked out for the Jazz this some, none tested better than Lyles.

Lindsey said, "We had multiple teams that were presenting us multiple firsts to move into 12. What it did was it validated the value that we felt was there."

The team is in trouble if that's what they are basing their decisions off of. That should be pretty far down the list of things you want in a player. You would think Devin Booker's shooting skill we old trump Trey Lyles balance skill.

Good hell.

Come on guys, let's look on the bright side. If he doesn't work out as a basketball player, we could always make him bears sidekick and add a tight wire act to entertain the crowd at halftime. All is not lost.
