Trump bars people from 7 countries entering the US

The racist people in my life are Mormon. I don't know that their religion plays a big part in it, although I suspect it does to a certain extent. I think that it is more a product of limited education and little exposure to other races and cultures.

When you have a large group consisting of millions there will always be assholes and racists. But when it comes to exposure to other ethnicities and cultures Mormons are the exception not the rule for white Christians. IMO anyways

Hmm my experience (especially in Utah County) has been the opposite. Mormons in general tend to be a racist group, especially the older ones. I think the reason is that they have had a racist past and racist beliefs. Many Mormons still hold the belief that God cursed people who were being "evil" with black or dark skin. Many Mormons I have met refer to Native Americans as lamanites.

Holy cow this a very bigoted view!! Generalize much? You literally just said in general.

How is this any different from speaking out against Islam and what is in the Quran?

You have proven yourself to be very hypocritical.

Seriously, do you have any clue how ridiculous you look right now?

Aside from just wanting to point out how hypocritical your views are, I completely resent your appalling statement. I don't know what Mormons you think you have been talking to, but the Mormons I know are some of nicest people in the world, and do some of the most charitable work on the planet. They do missions in every corner of the globe and invite people from every race to join the church. Look no further than amount of Polynesians that are in the church. Your bigoted statements makes zero sense and doesn't match up with the actual facts!!

I recently just got done reading a ton of Yelp reviews of Thai an Vietnam an other Asian quinine an OMG if those pos reviews weren't stereotypical returned mush positives I do not know what is.

Like, I would never NEVER eat Pho unless in a mood but all those returned else's raved about Pho Plus so I talked my gran kids there for one of ther birthdays an DAMN that broth was juicy. The kids loved sharing that big ole pot of broth an noodles to. They were fighting over the beef flank so I had to order two extra portions for $2 each. All-in-all I was out the door for $20 with tax an $5 tip for 6 kids an me.

I love the mishionairies for sending me to this hole in the wall. Best beef broth ever Siro

I have never seen a Mo treat a outsider, no matter what race or creed or just outsider with anything but the greatest of comforts.

In fact, I recently read that a Washington Stake offered up a room in one of there holy chapels for Muslims to pray to the East after there synogogue was bombed or something.

Imagine that. Mormons allowed another religion to pray to there God right inside there sacred, devoted holy grounds. Pretty special IYAM.

Specialty topping: Mormons are going the extra mile on the refugee front. KEEP THAT HATE UP BRUH.

Boris, I think he's talking more specifically about the historical beliefs, not necessarily current beliefs - - but as with anything, those brought up with older beliefs will have a more difficult time rejecting those beliefs

1978 is not exactly ancient history

https://www.lds.org/topics/race-and-the-priesthood?lang=eng&old=true

...for much of its history—from the mid-1800s until 1978—the Church did not ordain men of black African descent to its priesthood or allow black men or women to participate in temple endowment or sealing ordinances.

By the late 1940s and 1950s, racial integration was becoming more common in American life. Church President David O. McKay emphasized that the restriction extended only to men of black African descent. The Church had always allowed Pacific Islanders to hold the priesthood, and President McKay clarified that black Fijians and Australian Aborigines could also be ordained to the priesthood and instituted missionary work among them.

Tell me more. You seem to have answers for me based on your projections or assumptions about me. I did not say all Mormons are racist. I said in general they as a group tend to be based on their beliefs, which are rooted in racism. Mormons have a racist history, that is a fact. I don't think all Mormons fit into any category including racists. But I have seen plenty of racist Mormons, I don't find them to be above racism as a group and have found a higher number of them are subtle racists than the average person. Im as familiar as you can get with Mormons. There is nothing wrong with speaking out against the beliefs of Islam, I have never said that. I don't believe or support Islam or Christianity. I think they are equally dumb religions along with the Norse religion. The difference is I think people should be allowed to believe their religion and practice it as long as it does not interfere with others. Neither Mormons, atheist, Christians or Muslims should be discriminated against for their beliefs, unlike your beliefs where one group should be. Having had most of my neighbors as an adult be Mormon I would definitely choose to have my neighbor be a Muslim over a Mormon but I would choose an atheist over both, since they tend to be nicer more genuine people in my experience. Religious people tend to be nice because their religion tells them to be to gwt into heaven which is self serving and can be fake for some of them. Most atheist that are nice are nice because they are just nice people and follow the golden rule.

I wish when you had someone on ignore you wouldn't get notifications when they quote you and wouldnt see what they wrote. I assume hack for their sake is an alt.

Stereotypes tend(not always but often) to exist because many people fit into that category. It is a problem when you assume everyone fits into that category. I don't think all Mormons, Christians, Muslims or atheists fit into one stereotype.

Lots of Mormons are good people and do good things. Plenty of Mormons are not good people and do not do good things. Some of their teachings are great, some of their teachings are harmful and hurt people, just like most religions.

Funny how that works. I'd rather have all Mormons for a radius of a 100 miles, than live in a Muslim neighborhood. But I'll pass on both, thank you very much.

You're wrong. Dead wrong. The norse religion is decidedly cool. I mean Thor, with the hammer! And ragnarok? Damn son.

You are a total bigot and I guess you can't even see it. This is hilarious, You have zero self awareness.

You say "Mormons in General as a Group tend to be.."

That is the exact definition of stereotyping. That is the exact reason all people from every corner of globe use to get mad when someone says something about another group of people. You are painting with a broad brush. Haha. What, now you can find a justification for it. Holy hell. You have to be the most blind hypocrite I havr ever met.

Tell all mighty all liberal in his shiney ivory tower. If someone says black people in general as a group tend to be criminals, are you going to say that is racsim and bigotry? We ALL know that's what you will say.

Unbelievably hilarious. You are incapable seeing things from another point of view, but pretend you do. I just busted you. Your liberalism is nothing more than fashion to you. You dont actually have a good heart. You only do what you do for popularity. Its a game to you. Its fashion to you. You try different opinions on like clothing to see what makes people like you the most. Lolololol. Pathetic.

This is all history to me, but then again you liberals like to re-write history. Joseph Smith was staunchly abolitionist an oft talked fondly of "negroes", once saying

" Go into Cincinnati or any city, and find an educated negro, who rides in his carriage, and you will see a man who has risen by the powers of his own mind to his exalted state of respectability. The slaves in Washington are more refined than many in high places, and the black boys will take the shine off many of those they brush and wait on."

Racist? Nah. But keep those rose colored glasses windexed.

The man started a religion that did not allow people of a different color to be involved in leadership, and he's not racist?

Lol k

Its crazy how ok its become to generalize white people and generally just be racist towards them. Its down right bizarre how big of a double standard there is. If you try to say anything about another race as a group you are automatically labeled a racist Nazi bigot. Which is just a another racist slur. But completely ok cause its against white people.

It amazing that so many people actually think this is just going to go over so smoothly with everyone. Sure, there are growing number of beta male cucks out there, but still many who arent just going to roll over and let racists walk over them

Racism has different dimensions. There's the negative stereotpying dimension, there's the hate dimension, and there is inevitably the power dimension. Socially, racism ultimately manifests itself in terms of one group seeking to gain power over another to dominate/oppress them. Thus while whites, as a group, may well be victims of negative stereotyping or hate, they have not, nor are they likely to be, dominated or oppressed as a group by blacks, a least not in the US.

To hear/see white people cry about reverse racism is pathetic, as it always is when the powerful whine and complain.

Despite you trying to label me I've never been this liberal you want me to be, sorry. Glad you busted me on something you very clearly don't understand. Yes, I think a stereotype of Mormons is that they are racist and a lot of them fit into that, especially older ones. I don't think they all are racist nor (here is the big kicker and difference between you and i) do I think they should be discriminated against. I don't like all religions, I think they are harmful and I would not want my kids involved with them if i had any. But they should be allowed to exist and practice and be in our country. I know your trying to find people like you that discriminate against groups, but your are on your own on this one. I don't think an entire religion should be banned like you do or mistreated. You don't need to like every religion. I need to work on ignoring you. You only like to irritate people but when faced with facts or real issues and arguments you disappear and never return to that discussion.

Joseph Smith did not institute the priesthood ban on blacks. Brigham Young did. Then for dozens of decades, the LDS Church pretended that BY's good old fashioned 19th century racism was somehow divinely inspired doctrine, which fit well within LDS and national culture through 1970s, which was also racist, but no longer divinely inspired once progressing secular culture once again demonstrated God's word to be sadly out of date.

I've seen nothing in my experience to suggest that LDS culture is inherently racist. Homophobic yes, racist no. With that said, there are pockets of LDS believers who aren't too fond of the darker hued folk, which I presume to be disproportionately concentrated among the older generation, less educated and rural.

There is a big difference between discriminating against people and a book. If someone chooses to follow a book that calls for you to do horrible things. Then that book and the people who follow it are dangerous people. Its doesn't matter what your skin color is or where you are from. Its all about that book. Get rid of the book and denounce it, then you are welcome.

You choose to discriminate against people. You said so yourself. I have made it clear its not about people. Its about a book. You refuse accept that.

I think all Donald Trump and other concerned Americans want is to make sure that the people aren't part of a dangerous cult that believes in chopping of heads and hands. Oppressing woman and gays, rape, and may other awful things.

Is that really too much to ask?

Discriminating against people who choose to follow a religion is different than discriminating against someone because of their race or sex or other things they can't change. Also I don't think people should be discriminated against for their religion of it doesn't hurt people. I don't want to ban Mormons from any where, I don't want to not allow them to practice, I don't want them to not have the same rights as a citizen as I do. That is a big difference. I have many friends here in Utah that are Mormon that I hang it with. I don't like their religion but I like them. Just like I don't like many things do or believe in but I still like them.
