Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Don't lose hope. It's possible to get partly past it by trying to make friends with the other side of fence and spending time with them. It's challenging and slow, though. But every day somewhere on Earth, a former victim of propaganda sees the light.
I have an issue with this framing. Why does that responsibility fall on people like LG? When will MAGA put some skin in the game and open up to the majority of the country that they continually demean and harass?

It's that broken. The majority of his supporters consume only conservative media. Media has become too siloed and it is too easy to completely wall off any input from the other parts of the political spectrum. Look at Buck on here and the others, obviously consuming nothing but breitbart and fox to the point where when they are called out they have zero further responses. It's the most divisive we've ever been as a country and it's driven by the echo chambers of social media and the entirely partisan media driving tribal thinking and endless confirmation bias. Basically we'll never get past it.
Sorry @LogGrad98. The media is 92% biased towards Democrats. Conservatives are forced to see both sides. Democrats and liberals are the only ones that are truly siloed.

The worst of them are way too misinformed and pompous for that. This could be seen like trying to help a kid that's severely neuro untypical:)
Again, that’s not my problem. Nor can I fix that. In fact, the more we compromise, bend, and pander, the worse they get. Look at how the Overton window has shifted in just 10 years through pandering to the right. How many more pieces must we read about “economic anxiety” and “the forgotten man votes for Trump cuz x issue and now they’ve been laid off by DOGE?” At some point, those on the right who aren’t MAGA need to expand their view of who deserves to participate in our society and who should lead the country. That won’t be accomplished by further pandering and coddling of immature bored adults who actively vote against their own interests in order to hurt others.

Thank God. This is a win for the Constitution. Now we'll see how much enforcement has to do with all this. Can it be enforced?

The fact that it was a 5-4 decision tells you how much we need reform at the Supreme Court level. The current state of appointing the youngest and most partisan hacks to hopefully survive 50+ years to cement policies that your legislative branch could in no way pass, just isn’t sustainable in a representative democracy. We desperately need to expand the courts, have a mechanism to rotate judges so we don’t automatically know what the decisions are likely to be due to the partisan makeup of the court, term limits, and ethics reform so justice isn’t sold to the highest bidder.

The mass culling of workers from federal payrolls will have a "devastating" impact on cybersecurity and national security, a top former National Security Agency official said on Wednesday.

"Eliminating probationary employees will destroy a pipeline of top talent, essential for hunting and eradicating PRC threats," Joyce said at the hearing on the threat posed by the People's Republic of China's cyber operations targeting U.S. critical infrastructure, telecommunications and other sectors.

More than 100,000 federal workers have either taken early retirement or been laid off as part of President Donald Trump and billionaire advisor Elon Musk's efforts to radically pare down the size and role of federal agencies.

It is unclear how many workers have left the NSA, which handles foreign signals intelligence operations.

More than 130 positions have been cut from the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as of Feb. 14, a CISA spokesperson said. The agency oversees defense of civilian federal networks and coordinates information-sharing between private industry and government.

Called it! GSA is cancelling Fed leases. In an already struggling office market across the country, adding more inventory increases supply, with little existing demand. This offsets the Back to Office effort too.

Europe meeting this week to form a new alliance, excluding the US. Trump has realigned us. The legacy, peace and friendships after the fall of the Berlin Wall are over.
