Huh? Why wouldn’t Angela Merkel be considered German? She has German ancestry and was born in Germany (East or west? I think west but I’m unsure).

Just so you know, if Obama suddenly decided that all mormons are now considered utahns or all Catholics are now considered Italian or all Jews are now Israeli then I would criticize Obama thought process on it too.
Obama wouldn't say something like that though of course. He wouldn't say any of the stupid **** Trump spews on a daily basis.

Trump gives us more material to criticize than any other president in history.

Edit: Trump, the sitting president, was just barely fined 2 million dollars for defrauding EIGHT different charities and it was barely noticed. There was one post about it on jazzfanz and then it was forgotten. Seems like a kind of big deal yet no one is talking about it. I think we are going to easy on Trump and letting too much **** slide tbh

Germans used to have some bizarre laws around citizenship, it effectively disenfranchised a whole bunch of Germans from Turkish immigrant parents. (not completely sure of the full details but it was odd, there was a post war guest worker program that brought in a bunch of Turkish immigrants, these people had kids in Germany but they weren't entitled to German citizenship nor were they entitled to turkish citizenship.) But this is beside the point.

i think every Jewish female is entitled to Israeli citizenship or it is given to them without them requesting it regardless of their nationality. Strange country.

People say all sorts of dumb ****. Jihadism, is a religious nationalist movement, like Zionism, ethnicity is not a requirement for membership, religion is.

Islam is a religion not a race. Those (hypothetical) articles would be misinformed.

Difference between being a religious bigot and a racist. Both are awful, of course.

Using ID laws to deliberately disenfranchise minority American citizens is racist. Many republicans have openly admitted that this was the explicit intent of these laws. But they spin cover story lies because they know ill informed and gullible folks will believe. And, it works!

Its been a long time since ive voted here and i cant remember if you need ID. At the moment outside of my passport i have no proper valid ID.

But the Law of Return does not grant Israeli citizenship to people of the Jewish faith unless they move to Israel. They can then request that citizenship, or simply be residents there for three months, at which point citizenship is granted, unless one states one does not want citizenship. Two of my Jewish high school friends emigrated and became citizens under the Law of Return, and yes, a convert to Judaism could do the same.

But, here's the thing. I can convert to Judaism and remain here in the United States. So, I most certainly can join the Jewish faith without becoming a citizen of Israel, exactly what I stated. Converting to Judaism provides the Law of Return avenue to Israeli citizenship, as it does to any ethnic Jew, but that is not the same thing as saying Judaism is itself a nationality. Being Israeli is a nationality, because Israel is a nation, like any other recognized nation. Being a member of the Jewish faith is not equivalent to being an an Israeli national. It's being a member of a specific religious faith.

So, I will stick to what I said. I can join the Jewish faith without becoming a citizen of Israel. You are not negating that statement, IMO. You are simply stating the Law of Return would allow me to become an Israeli national. It is not a requirement that I do so upon my hypothetical conversion.

Requiring an ID is fine. Just make the process streamlined for legit citizens to get one.
 
Trump’s evangelical friends and Netanyahu the Jewish supremacist are pleased. This is comparable to signing an executive order that accuses anyone who criticizes the US government of being anti-american. This alone should be considered an impeachable offense, as it’s contrary to the American principle of freedom of speech. An executive order to put limitations on the 1st Amendment on behalf of a foreign country, FFS.

Amare Stoudemire apparently considers himself Jewish. I was reading interview where he was talking about his kosher diet and how he can't eat shrimp.

Exactly. I don't consider Amare to be Israeli for his ethnicity or nationality. Just Jewish for his religion which makes complete sense.
