This thread is all over the place, so just a brief response to the previous conclusory posts about how it's not possible to raise a child on $15 an hour unless you want to live a life of poverty. It’s a testament to the privilege and opportunity of so many that this is seen as a choice and not a way of living. I know dozens of individuals and families (mostly first generation immigrants from my neighborhood) that live near or below poverty levels. Raising a family with numerous children on $15 dollars an hour, with steady work and the support of friends, extended family and the community, is everyday life for a large segment of Utah's population, and it’s more often than not done with pride and an appreciation for life that’s lacking in many with more choice and opportunity.
