What's new

Turkoglu suspended 20 games for PED.

During Eurobasket 2011 he spend more time in Vilnius night clubs drinking and partying with local girls then passing the ball to his teammates during games. Not surprisingly Turkey's team full of NBA players sucked and did not even make to playoffs as Turk was chucking jumpers left and right like no other. Seriously, since his couple good seasons in Orlando he got lazy, injury prone and selfish. I liked his game in 2007-2008 but after that he has been sliding downhill faster then bobsled in Olympics.

...and if I'm not mistaken, he's a "chain smoker" too! But I could be wrong on this.

First you hated on Kanter. Now you hate on Turkoglu?
Both are Turks. You have something against them?
Turk was MIP and in the All Rookie Team. He was considered the best 'Point Forward' in his prime after Lebon. Was so skilled, so versatile. Could do everything on the floor. He was so fun to watch. He had a very good and long career. A great passer, ballhandler, shooter. A uniqe combination of length and skill.
He came from a long injury and is 34 years old. Now you say he sucks? You are a joke.

Where did I say I hate Kanter? I did not like the pick and still think Jazz screwed up by leaving JV on the board but I do not hate Kanter - I may hate O'Connor for drafting Kanter but kid has nothing to do with it.
And read again, I liked Hedo in 2007-2008, after that he was huge disappointement and yes, indeed he sucks now ( and since 2009-2010 season) as basketball player and in no way he is worth 11 mil/year salary now. Probably most overpaid player judged on production per money.
And even in his best years he would not crack top 10 best European players ever.

I have to disagree here. Take a look at the salaries amnestied players are still getting paid. It's disturbing.

Any one worried about Kanter being on PEDs?
Has he had any contact with Turkoglu?
He did have a remarkable transformation off season.

This.

Colangelo is a moron. Signings just for saving the day and he is still doing the same thing. Dumb enough to think that a system player who was succesful at Orlando with Howard and 3 other shooters as a point forward would show the same succes on Toronto. If you had Calderon (also J.Jack) on your roster basicly you can't put lots of money on a 31 years old point forward. So assuming that you are a Raptors fan (im just trying to understand the hate, maybe you are not) i can feel your pain AKMVP. It was a bad contract and he hated by the Raptors fans. Damn i would hate too if i was a Raptors fan to be honest.

With his Toronto year his career went downhill as expected. He had problems with the organization, that ugly contract was long and substantial enough to ruin his career. Now we came to the this point but he had played major roles on contender teams with 93 playoff appereances at Kings, Spurs and Magic, he was a factor on 2009 NBA Finals and won a MIP award. So when you come back and look at this he is one of those European players who had an impact on NBA, maybe not so deep but you can't say he didn't make a name for himself in NBA as an European player.

Yeah, meaning he was pretty average then had a few pretty good years, then went quickly down hill.

Actually meaning he was a good role player on Adelman's Kings and Pops' Spurs then he played as a part of the core at Magic, the team that developing parallelly with Howard's improvement year by year.

On this list he was listed as the 43 best player in the entire NBA...https://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6645216/10755573

On this one he was number 40. https://www.listology.com/podizz/list/top-100-nba-players

This one lists Hedo as number 31.... Also states he was the best player in the playoffs run. Being the best player on a playoff run on a team that reached the finals is pretty impressive... https://www.jackofallthoughts.com/sports-commentary/top-100-nba-players-201/

Being the second best player on a team that reached the NBA finals is not bad.

He even has his signature free throw animation in 2K13. Pretty nice, eh? :D

Like I said, he had a few pretty good year with the Magic. Other than those 3-4 years he was an average to below average player.

Like you said, like I said like Dick said or whoever, if a player shows some capability for two seasons that he can be great, doesn't that mean anything? I mean come on, this is obviously being a spoilsport. Not now maybe but calling Hedo a really good player before he went to Canada is not too hard you know, which was the time actually right around this interview happened:

He probably started doing steriods when he got to Orlando hence the improvement. (joking)

Obviously he is a very talented player, he had/has a wide-range of skills, but he just never had enough consistency and his overblown confidence really hindered him from having a longer peak to his career.

There you go. That is something I can agree with. I don't know if it was the Raptors experience or Hedo's ending of hunger for success, but he sure was nearly never like he was before. If I know Hedo enough to know the truth, he lost his hunger.
