Twitter feeds leading up to the draft

Emiliano Carchia: Rockets trade Chase Budinger to Wolves for the 18th pick https://www.sportando.net/eng/us…

Tim Kawakami: Rockets are loading up for a run at Dwight Howard, no doubt. Will Orlando listen?

Jonathan Givony: Houston now has the #14, #16 and #18 picks to go after Dwight Howard it looks like. Serious ammunition for the stockpile.

Alex Kennedy: The Rockets also believe that Hakeem Olajuwon's relationship with Dwight Howard could help them keep Howard in Houston after next year.

Minnesota really needed a wing player, surprised they didn't hold out for the draft and see if Terrance Ross was available.

Another thing. We are fixated on getting a pg, but the only one that projects better than Harris is lillard. I believe that we would take a player like pj3 or tj because they are the bpa around 12. We can address pg at another point. Marshall is not the answer long term either.

Jonathan Givony: If Kings fans didn't need another reason not to jump off a cliff, there's lots of chatter Sac is considering passing on Barnes for Lillard.

Jonathan Givony: Not that I don't like Lillard, I just don't understand strategy of cutting off your nose to spite your face. Drafted guard top-10 last year.

Jonathan Givony: Maybe Cleveland will make Sacramento's decision easier by picking Barnes 4th over MKG. Shockingly, that appears to be 50/50 there still.

Yeah, Chase really is not worth the 18th pick. This is where you start wondering how other teams can pull these deals off, but the jazz never seem able to.

Because the Jazz don't have any good wing players they are willing to depart with. Budinger fits what the Wolves wants, an athletic shooter who can run with Rubio.

Not specific to this trade, just in general. Jazz have a tendency to be too conservative. I am a fan of koc, but to deny that the jazz rarely make big deals to improve the team is ignorant as hell. We are steady and safe and that has allowed us to build playoff teams over the past 12 years, but not championship contending teams.

Jason Friedman: Obviously Jazz value playoff experience they got & Rox would have rather made playoffs. But sometimes you win for losing in the NBA.

That is how I have been feeling as well. The package that the Jazz would need in order to get Lillard will be too much. Get the #12 and take BPA and hope the Harris starts to transform his game.

I would much rather have Harris then Jefferson.

I agree.

KOC sits on his hands while POR deals Wallace for #6

Now HOU gets Budinger for #18? I mean.. really? Budinger?

Not sure how we'll use PJIII. Last year we picked Burks over Leonard because KOC likes wings who are more 'facilitator' than the 'rebounding' type.

Are we now saying we'll play PJIII at SF and move Hayward back to SG? Seems like a step back from the theory they implemented this/last year...

There is this too:

WojYahooNBA Houston has also included the rights to Israeli Lior Eliyahu in the deal to Minnesota, a source said.

If you can get PJ3 at 12 there is a lot less risk involved and you can let him come along gradually. He could be a top 3 player from this draft or he can be a bust, but at 12 is it worth the risk.

KAAAHHHHHNNNN! Really, is he worth the 18th pick?

Sounds like Hou is going to run at Dwight and throw everything they can for him.

I guess..

I just feel like we need to improve our shooting & defense. And by getting PJIII I don't know if we even accomplish one of those goals......

Budinger's a legitimate, proven NBA player. When you look at pervious drafts the chances of getting a "Budinger" at #18, is pretty slim.

His per36 numbers are pretty good and he fits their team really well. At 18 there aren't going to be many SG's left besides Evan Fournier, but he can't shoot and isn't really athletic.

He would be a starter for Wolves - no question about that...

... but he had trouble finding starter minutes for HOU last season playing behind the rookie Parsons no less...
