What's new

Ty Corbin's quote on playing Jefferson over Burks in the 4th.

What if the Burke, Hayward, Jefferson, Williams, Favors lineup is better than the Burke, Burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter (and in this lineup, you force two players to play out of position: Favors and Hayward).

Favors would be the C in both lineups. And if Kanter is a center only then we royally screwed up that pick. Because he is completely inadequate defensively as a C. Also Hayward is a SG/SF not just a SG. So I don't see that either of those players are playing out of position. That's just another lame excuse not to play the lineup.
.
The lineup when played succeeded. And yet they have not been put on the floor together since. That is a failure by the coaching staff.

As usual Green you neglect to consider the future, the goal, what the Jazz are trying to develop -- the former lineup does not contribute to the big picture, the overall goal. But you refuse to consider that, time and again, though I repeatedly argue that point. Are you just ignoring that and don't consider that important?

So developing Burke, Favors and Hayward, who are better players, over Burk is neglecting the future? Ha ha.

Burks looks like the better player of late

And let's give Burks some credit. He even came out and said he supports TY and trusts his decisions when asked about being taken out for Jefferson.

Yes because it would have done him so much good to come out and say that Ty is a moron who doesn't understand the flow of the game and pulling him out when he was headed to a career night made no sense at all.

I'm not saying that is the case, just saying that of course Burks is going to say nice things no matter what he thinks. He doesn't have tenure yet, for lack of a better term.

Neither would be out of position. As Lindsey has said, there are bigs and there are wings. The idea of C and PF and SF and SG are outdated. They can have different roles in those positions and those have to balance out: scorer, rebounder, defender, playmaker, etc. The lineup of the young 5 should get heavy minutes no matter how they are playing in a particular game.

The professionals and the stats agree with this. Arguing about it any further is grasping at straws by the haters.

Let's review. Jefferson 9 pts and 3 rbs. in the 4th quarter. Jazz down 14 when Burks subs out, but close to within 5 with 1:30 to play. I get that Burks was playing well, but how is that not understanding the flow of the game?

I have no idea, why don't you tell me, since that is not what I was saying, but rather using as a hyperbole to explain a possible reason why Burks would not speak ill of his head coach.

Anything else you would like to take out of context?

Oh let's try this:

Seriously, how is that?

True, but there have been players who haven't had the sense to do that, people like Cousins, Capt Jack, Dwightmare, Carmelo, etc, so this at least show Burks does have common sense.

Yeah but most of those guys had their tenure. They felt they were untouchable and could do not wrong so they made asses of themselves. Burks may be one of those, but is still insecure in his position. If he had a long-term guaranteed contract with other prospects it might be different, but right now he knows he can't afford to alienate everyone with ******** like that.
