Is this a joke?

Sadly no! TV news this morning reported that a halloween dance that has been held for three or four years in SG area was busted by the police and the dancing stopped. They had a permit but it was edited after the fact by "someone". Who lined out the permissive statements and hand wrote in that dancing was not allowed. They actually showed the documents on the news broadcast. Some of the wording used to describe "dancing" were quite weird.

Decided to add a link to this. It is must reading if you live in this state. If this is allowed to become the norm we will get what we deserve.

I'm not upset at the cops. That's their job. But they fact that the city council and Mayor allowed this to be an ordinance/law in the firs tplace is absolutely insane. Pure idiocy.

Wow, that's crazy.

But no crazier than some things that go on in other states. Basically, my view is that yes, there will be a handful of players that won't sign with Utah because of various factors (race/religion/party scene/etc), but I've never seen anything to convince me of anything else but that the vast majority of players will sign with the team that offers them the most money.

It has less to with being around other minorities as it does having a vibrant nightlife and a scene worth being seen in. If all of SLC white women whored out like other big city ho's of any race, no one would be saying how boring SLC is and complain about diversity.

If you're an NBA player and you cannot get laid in a decent sized city where the LSD population has long lost its majority, you got no game.

I don't know, Salt Lake City is at least as exciting as Reno, maybe more exciting. Definitely more exciting than Sparks and that's saying something there.

Most of the NBA is African American so all those cities are better then SLC.. You fans have no one to blame but yourselves.. Look at the way D Fisher was treated. Players will always remember that.. So go suck it Utah

slc > cleveland, okc,orlando, milwaukee

for sure.

i don't love slc, but it has plenty of things to do.

Look at the way D Fisher treated us. SLC will always remember that.

I remember Derek Fisher...he wanted to to go to Oklahoma City from Dallas to be closer to his family in LA. Apparently he's never seen a map before.

On this note, here is where Paul Millsap used to live when he played for us. It's in Sandy.

Here is his new Atlanta home.

According to this website, most census divisions in Buckhead, Atlanta are over 90% white. Sandy is 93%, according to the same census info.

Exactly. You can get the Utah experience (safe neighborhood, good schools) in any city by just living in the nice part of that city. So why would you want to live in Utah and not have the benefits of a close big city night life (if you like that kind of thing occasionally).

Slc can offer you a strong LGBT community, lots of Mormons, most Polynesians in the US, meth, healthier beer (water is good for you doe), fry sauce, jello, and jazz.
Plus a good amount of mexicans.

How much diversity does one need?

Also Honey Butter on Dat Scone Doe!

I would rather have SLC like it is, than a supposed 'attractive' destination for night life seeking NBA players...Ill take the negatives with the positives anyday..no problem for me.

Please tell me what laws other states have, that they actually enforce, that are crazier than requiring a dance permit to have a dance? That is just freaking ridiculous.

I'm in.

Karl Malone played in the city of Utah for many years. Karl Malone then went to the LA (Los Angelez) where Karl Malone got to play a lot in the L.A. scene, but Karl Malone a family man and there is no good hunting in L.A. except for rings. Karl Malone didn't have success. This makes Karl Malone sad to think about. Thanks a lot!

The club scene in SLC is obviously lacking compared to every other NBA city, but it's a huge place for raving.

(pretty sure people from 48 of the 50 states came to this one)

Good concept. Poor execution.
