Types of Jazz fans and the Ones I Dislike Most

That it was sent from My Mothers basement I cannot deny. That my mothers basement is a metaphor for that which is ineffable and transcends the finite mind, I cannot deny that either.

Terrible, just terrible. At least try.

Not enough options...

4. Casual Fan (as spy mentioned)
5. People that became fans Pre-Stockton/Malone Jazz
6. People that are/were Jazz fans only because of their loyalty to a particular player. Once that player is traded or plays elsewhere, they hate the Jazz with a passion and only post here to remind us how dumb the Jazz were for letting their player go. (examples: Kanter fans, Keith McCleod fans, Bryce Cotton fans)

You are right, as Previously noted, though insufficiently I will admit, it was not intended to be a scrupulous endeavor. My primary motive was much less scholarly and infinitely more intended as a venue by which I might vent.

There are really Keith McCleod fans? I must have missed that era of Jazzfanz.

Similar to the first group, there's also the group of fans that stopped paying attention after the Deron/Boozer era.

I want to have my cake and eat it, too. I'm a fan who believes developing players can be done whilst winning. Not much difference between a pick in the later teens vs. #12.
DL could have provided Utah with a better bench the past 2 years. And that playing time would have simply replaced the "contributions" of stars such as LittleSap, CJ, Ingles, etc.
Yes, I'm complaining. If that puts me in the class of fans everyone hates, so be it. I'm held accountable at my job, why shouldn't we look at what DL has done thus far? No playoffs, no decent FA signings. Jazz with the 28th payrolll for two years straight. It's either on him or the Board for being cheap and preventing the team from playing in May.

This last year was intended as a period for the FO to make evaluations about players and how they fit together. Had DL nabbed a vet wing, we know much less about Hood and Alec Burks probably plays very few mins. Like 15 a game. And as far as the point guard goes, the team did not go after a solid to good vet PG because they wanted to evaluate Dante. They believe in him and think he's got a chance to be very good. I'm sure after he got injured they looked around but nothing was worth the price they'd have had to pay.

Bill Shakespeare, I was hoping you'd make it to the party.

Not hurling offense bruh, we are merely having a meeting of the minds. If it is you think your take on the Jazz is correct, articulate you're point accordingly. Embrace debate, be brilliant, drive it home, let your voice be heard. If it is well thought out and makes good sense, the cream will rise to the top. Always does. It's the only light we have in all this darkness.

I'm a fan of that too. I bet everyone is. But believing in it is one thing, making it happen is another.

I compare Utah's situation to the rest of the tanking, rebuilding teams that somehow got lucky (!) consecutively and got really high picks. Even though they wipe the floor of the conference year after year, they still look good for the future. Think about TWolves, Bucks, Magic. They sure are exciting to watch and look like they can become the future's contenders don't you think?

Now look at the Jazz. They are not tanking. They are trying to win. They are trying to see which players are going to be signed for the long term. They definitely did not tank and I am happy for this. I will not be surprised if the Jazz starts attacking a few strong names, especially after this season. And I'm glad they have been careful with the FA signing process and don't jump to unnecessary names that could affect team chemistry and young players' part in that chemistry.

So when you look at it, the ones that try and tank to rebuild wipe the floor and the Jazz are already trying for the 6th-8th range in -an obviously tougher than East- Western Conference. OKC are about to get dissolved in at most a year. You will have your division back if you are patient enough. Keep it young. Let the future develop. Don't stop believing in the rebuilding because if you do, then everything has happened for nothing.

How would you classify yourself?

Way more interested in hockey and football. I'm not even watching the NBA playoffs. I'm only a Jazz fan because Salt Lake doesn't have a pro hockey team. The refereeing alone makes hockey a far more watchable sport.

That's interesting. It surprises me you spend time on this site. I have tried to become a true fan of other teams in other sports, but never find time to invest in them let alone spend time on the online communities dedicated to those teams. Please don't misunderstand. I'm not knocking you at all. It just genuinely surprises me. The Jazz are the only team I really care about. Guess you could say I'm a one woman man.

I spend time on this site because I attend a lot of Jazz games with friends and I enjoy discussing the Jazz with them. But if there was a hockey team I'd be going to and discussing those games instead.
