What's new

U.S. Soccer

Poor Arsenal, though. They lost UEFA cup against Galatasaray, too. In the penalty shoot-outs. Seamann was the goalkeeper then as well.
Lol. Seaman.

Remember jumping high after Ergün's goal and bumping the chandalier and hitting the ground creeping down that night. I was so happy. Even though I was not a GS fan.

Or was it Popescu?

MLS has a long way to go to reach even second tier league euro/Latin America level soccer. It is much better than it was, though. I was hoping for a better showing in their CCL match but it's a down year(as was last year.) Losing Jason Kries significantly hurt the program, IMO. Kries>>>>Cassar.

You guys didn't happen to catch the game on Sunday did you? LOL, up 2-0 in orlando into the 93rd (NINETY THIRD!!!) minute and they concede, TWICE. I think this is going to be RSL's MO this year. They're going to score because they have the talent to do so, but that back line is garbage. Let Glad play! Olave is ludabad. Juan Manuel Martinez is the truth though, and it's good to see Plata get on the score sheet so early. Overall, a good weekend for MLS. A lot of entertaining games.

MLS in general though, It's hard to place just how good the league is as it's run so differently than other leagues with their weird-*** salary rules/exceptions. They have guys like Giovinco playing up top and the shoddiest of shiite on the same team trying to pass it to him or finish his service (not talking about Bradley or Altidore, maybe).

RSL couldn't protect a lead last year either. So, yeah, unfortunately more of the same.

It was Popescu. I was on my father's shoulders.

the end of that RSL game in Orlando was.....fun

No it was not.
That was like the jazz being up by 8 in quadruple overtime with 1 minute to go and then losing. Thats how the loss against orlando felt to my friend that is a die hard rsl fan.

That Burrito dude looked awesome. (first time i have seen him. i dont really ever watch soccer but i watched all of the orlando game.)

Also, im shocked that there arent some douchebags out there crying about racism concerning a hispanic dude named burrito martinez. Funny as hell to me.

He's from Argentina. Not exactly the hot bed for bean and cheese burritos.

Besides, what else should his nickname be? Shaquille? Chang? Frank?

Just saying.
I mean it don't matter to me but I'm surprised someone hasn't thrown a fit about it in the world we live in.

Imagine a black player named fried chicken johnson.

Freaking Jamison Olave blew our 2 goal lead in Portland. Very well played game by RSL to escape with the draw, despite the adversity. Plata, Movsisyan and Burrito firing on all cylinders is a joy to watch, can't help but like our attack this year.

The sad part about it was that the dude who scored the two goals probably should have been given a red card when he tried to take out Rimando.

Anyone going to watch the game this Friday against Guatemala? Starts at 7pm PST. Should be a good excuse to drink beer.

Today's a sad day for soccer. The great Johan Cruyff passed away at 68. A legend as a player and coach for F.C. Barcelona.

F.C. Barcelona was the best team there's ever been during his era and it was known as the 'Dream Team'.

RIP.
