Up next we catch up with @benmaller about his tweet indicating the Jazz and the Kings are discussing a @jimmerfredette trade.
 
Welcome to the conversation verlin. Check the other thread about jazz and suns being potential suitors for jimmer.
 
I did not know it was in discussion. What I got out of that thread is that the Jazz were a suitor. well duh!. Anyways I read something saying it would be watson plus the GS pick. Barf.

Hell no. That is way to much. Maybe just maybe our pick in the early 20s next maybe. I don't think he is worth more then a couple seconds.
 
I'll ****ing lose it if we give up the GS pick for Fredette. They can have Watson, sure, but the GS pick could easily get us someone better.
 
Agreed GS pick is too much and thats coming from someone who loves the jimmer.
Basically giving away a potential lottery pick for a 3rd string (currently) point guard/shooting guard.

I say Bell and a second rounder.... maybe even bell and our own first in 2014. (probably the last pick in the draft since we will win the championship that year)

Of course i realize then we would have 4 point guards so maybe it would have to be watson.... i just hate bell so much
 
Raja Bell for Jimmer actually seems like a scenario that might make sense. Sacramento might feel like they need some "veteran presence" to balance out their young roster. That or some sign and trade for Howard or Miles. I don't see anyone else on the Jazz roster worth giving up for a headache. I wouldn't hate the trade from a purely basketball standpoint, but the Jimmer fans would be nauseating.
 
Ya if we got jimmer i would worry about the chemistry of the team when burks or mo struggle a bit and the fans start calling for jimmer. How would burks or mo feel.
Or you might have favors playing great and being the mvp of the team but not feeling the love from the fans like the dude at the end of the bench.
 
If its the right price, having a shooter is worth it. Whats the right price? uh....no idea, but Im not putting too much into how he has done with the Kings in one year. That is like everyone else saying Kanter is a bust based on last season. He was overwhelmed obviously last year at times, but you cant teach shooting (ask Horny and the Jazz awesome 3 point shooting recently) and Jimmer can shoot.

Raja for Jimmer would be amazing, even though I have serious doubts now as to whether Jimmer will ever be able to adjust to the NBA game. But I can't see Sacramento doing it straight up. They'd maybe do it for Raja + a pick or two.

Edit: and by "pick" I mean "second round or low first round"

I could see the Jazz's pick being entered, with lottery protection. Our pick should be in the low 20's, so it's not like we would be losing much.
 
If we only received Jimmer in a trade that included the golden state pick, that proves the Jazz don't care about trying to win a championship, only filling seats.

Provision should be Watson and the lower of Utah's two picks. I can't see both Utah AND GS missing the playoffs so the pick would likely be late-teens.

I would do this, but I don't think it is a possibility. We cannot trade picks in consecutive years. If we trade our own pick, it would need to be for 2014. I'd trade that pick for Jimmer in a heartbeat. We will be good in 2013 and that pick will be crap. Jimmer learning from Mo would be ideal. That is the type of PG Jimmer would need to be. Because our other wings are good ball handlers, it would work out well.

Isnt it just that you need to have a pick in at least 1 of 2 consecutive years? NJ traded us their #3 last year and Portland their #6 this year right?
