What's new

Ummm Jazz in talks for Jimmer?

Isnt it just that you need to have a pick in at least 1 of 2 consecutive years? NJ traded us their #3 last year and Portland their #6 this year right?

Good question. I didn't think other people's picks traded to you counted, which was why we see to many select then trades during the draft to circumvent the restriction.

I could be easily wrong.

On another note, they need to stop the nanny-statism on basketball. If Isaih Thomas is stupid enough to trade all of his draft picks for a decade, let him suffer. And no more player amnesties!

If the Jazz trade the GS pick for Jimmer, you will never see me post on this board again because I will no longer be a Jazz fan. Sometimes, life really is that simple.

Stipulation: If we get an unprotected future 1st back from Sacramento or something like that, all bets are off bitches.

Tangentally, if I were a Knick fan I would have paid Karl Malone to elbow Isiah again when he was ruining the Knicks.

"The New York Knicks would like to announce a trade. . ." KAPOW!!!

I'd be disgusted beyond belief, but I could never stop being a Jazz fan.

A pick from Sacramento would be sweet, yes.

I think Sactown is getting desperate...

They know they've made a mistake picking Jimmer that high. Also he's now become a distraction to the team IMO. A whining Jimmer sitting behind Brooks & Isaiah is not a good start to the season IMO.

They need to get rid of him before the season starts but they also need to safe face along the way by getting something back that's of substance. I don't see the Jazz wanting to give up anything that Sactown would consider 'substance'.

However, the Jazz is probably the only team that'll take on the Jimmer Project (for commercial reasons).

Give them a protected 1st rounder that becomes a 2nd rounder in 1-2 years is the most I'd give up to get Jimmer. That way Petrie saves face and we Millers get their $$$$

So a "whining Jimmer" isn't okay in Sactown but will be here? ****ing brilliant.

The Ted Stepien rule is that teams can't trade away consecutive future first-round draft picks. Since the 2012 draft is now in the past, the Jazz can trade their 2013 first-rounder if they want.

Not gonna happen. KOC is not some sheltered BYU freshman.

Jimmer's for Raja Bell?
You have to think Bell's in this trade.

I'm not a fan of Jimmer, along with Kemba Walker, he's the smallest SG in the NBA.
$*&* that.

I've always hated Jimmer with a passion, but I would love to see him in a Jazz uni. That dude has a smooth stroke, and IF our duo of 3rd picks ever figure out how to play like men on the inside, it would open up the outside to Jimmer's lethal range.

In short, Jimmer: Just Do It.

Jimmer is going to steal everyone's thunder and might scare them away from re-signing with this team. I can see Jimmer chucking a final shot because the entire audience will be screaming "Jimmer!, Jimmer!, Jimmer!" and if he doesn't shoot, people will be PISSED and hell will freeze over Salt Lake. I wish Jimmer the best, but please do not come back.

The sad thing is that Earl is probably a better NBA player over the course of his career in comparison to Jimmer. Maybe Earl can't shoot from distance, but at least he brings other things to the table. Unless Jimmer starts actually hitting shots he is supposed to, he will be another huge bust.
