After rewatching the game, I actually feel a bit better about Utah's ability to get pressure on the QB with using just the front 4. There actually was quite a few times where Utah's D-line got good penetration against a very good Utah State O-line and were in position to make a play. Had they not been facing a QB who seems to be Spiderman, Superman, Batman, and The Fonz combined into one person, I think they'd have quite a few more tackles on the QB which would have limited USU's offensive output quite a bit.
Still A LOT of work for Utah to do. Most notably in the defensive backfield, but I do have to say that I'm feeling better and better about the USU win.
I agree with you about the defensive pressure.
Would have had a nice number of sacks against most qb's
