What's new

Utah Jazz (43-26) @ Chicago Bulls (32-37) - 6 PM MT

I think Burks just has to take a look in the mirror (or in this case stat pages) and see that he suck at finishing around the rim and he should focus on simplifying the way he attacks the basket.

I think he was talking about the "this team is too stupid to be taken seriously" part.

Edit: just saw that cy wasn't talking about that part of your post. Should have been though.

Too much work to read the follow-up conversation that directly followed before responding?

I was kind of talking about the whole post, but I just focused on that extra dumb part.

We're all guilty of saying dumb things. For instance, somebody earlier claimed this loss is fine because the Warriors and Spurs will just rest against us with the #1 seed on the line.

Good lord dude. You think blocking shots is that easy? He had to recover and swat the shot. Its not like he went straight up to block it. There is kinetic energy involved to even get to the point where can meet the ball in the air to have a chance to block it. Is it possible he could have controlled it better? Maybe, but Rudy has a pretty good track record of controlling blocks correctly. Maybe in this scenario he just didn't have the ability to do so? But your go to explanation is that he was too stupid. The lack of respect for the dpoy and best shot blocker in the nba is unreal.

IDK, he really has to change the way he attacks. I think he can still be a decent bench player on a good team.

Yeah more importantly he needs to shoot when he gets a pass outside the 3(also get himself open and make himself available). Dude was a 40% 3 poin shooter before hee got injured . His first option should be to shoot not attack. He needs to build a rep as a shooter.

Alec was injured for a long time, I think its difficult to find your old self while trying to mesh with a team that took a step forward without him.

In the Warriors case, they were coming off a 9 game stretch with 8 road games, playing on a b2b. That's the only game in the last two seasons that they've rested any key starters.

They aren't going to rest players against us in the 2nd to last game of the season if a win clinches the #1 seed.

Guaranteed at least pop cares waaaaayyy more about going into the playoffs fresh than 1st or 2nd seed. It only takes one game to flip HCA and pop ain't worried at all about winning on somebody else's court.

Fans need to quit worrying so much about strength of schedule at this point in the season. Sometimes it's the young, hungry guys who don't get to play much and come out and kill you because they play balls out. I mean, some people had us immediately dropping to the 7th seed, and so far we are doing just fine, even with our losses. Hell, it might very well be in our best interest to drop to 6th anyway so we can play the Rockettes.

Sometimes you run into a team who is shooting hot. It happens. BFG. Team is doing just fine, so you shake it off and move on to the next one.

And seriously, LMFAO at the people hitting the panic button or calling us overrated. Some of you guys should maybe join stifle tower and just quit the year because the Jazz being a top 5-6 team in the league isn't up to your standards. My hell.

There have been multiple instances in Pop's coaching career where the last couple games of the season had a chance to influence the Spurs final seeding. Pop has rested his starters in none of them.

Losing these types of games is what is separating from the NBA elite.

These are games we have to start winning. This road trip should of been 3 out of 4. Now we are lucky to get 2.

The Jazz sure have been running into a lot of those, somehow.
But still winning most of their games as evidenced by their record this season.

Such a pathetic loss. You could just see them decide to coast when they went up 12, and they never were able to recover from that. The bench especially was beyond pathetic. I don't see why Burks is getting crap for it either. At least he tried out there.

But still winning most of their games as evidenced by their record this season.

So by this logic the Warriors have not been struggling lately because they still have the best record?

The Jazz are undoubtedly doing better than last season, record-wise. That doesn't mean that this inability to maintain a consistent effort and motivation throughout the game isn't an issue. Especially against garbage teams like the Pistons or the Bulls.
