Utah Jazz and Enes Kanter Workout Report

He walked. jk, I've seen him make enough moves, both on the perimeter and back to the basket, that I have NO (none) doubts about his high-level contribution at this level.

To this point I've only shared facts (as I've witnessed) and intentionally avoided in hyperbolic statements (in an effort to keep topics on target ..). To those Jazz friends I know personally, on a day-to-day basis, I've said he's a top 5 center within 3 years .. possibly 2.

The Jazz always play it close to the vest. That's how they operate. Look at the D-Will trade compared to the Carmelo trade...

Well yea, but Carmelo was crying like a bitch that he wanted to be traded every chance he got. There wasn't much the Nuggets could have done to keep it quiet. Everybody knew he wanted out.

This.

And even if Kanter was a carbon copy of Bogut (no 3pt range or consistent jump shot), I'd still take him at 3. Bogut is a very good NBA Center. If he were not toiling in NBA Siberia, more people would realize this. Put him on a "sexy" team like the Lakers, Suns, Knicks, etc and the dudes probably an All-Star.

This.

Bogut despite his injuries, is worth a top 3 pick.

If Kanter is at least as good as Bogut, then the Jazz just got a steal for Deron (Favors, Harris, and Kanter for Deron). If he's a lot better than Bogut, then the Jazz might have made the best trade in NBA history and avoided the mess that Cleveland and Denver went through.

How do we know Kanter is a consistent jump shooter? How do we know he is a consistent 3pt shooter? Yeah he can do them in practice, but how well can he execute them in a real game?

Rolling the dice in an attempt to get the best big man in this draft is a much better gamble than going after someone that might be Antawn Jamison (Dwill) or Jason Terry (Knight).

In a draft without any sure franchise player (like Lebron), you have to go off potential and the limited information provided by these scouts and players, and make your best judgment.

We don't really. However, those that have watched him play for years (not me, by the way) have said he shoots a high percentage out to 3. I've never heard him called a 'pure shooter' or 'lights out' or anything like that, just very good ... and especially for a near 7 footer.

From what I saw of him last year, I wouldn't even care ... he's not Okur and doesn't WANT to play on the perimeter .. he understands his bread and butter is banging around the rim, brute size/strength, footwork, etc.

I'm sure KOC will be very upset you aren't pleased.

Haha, very nice. It's true. You guys realize how much grief KOC gets year in and year out from fans all over? The draft is probably the worst/best day of the year for him from a fan "appreciation" perspective. :) heheh

WOW! I haven't seen him outside of the Youtube games I could find. His shooting mechanics is flawless! Seriously, he has the best follow through, especially for a big man, I've seen in awhile.

I like how easily he gets up and dunks with one hand. Some guys really have to labor to get their bodies up. He does it quickly and with strength.

His long distance jumping is excellent as he dunked from just under the free throw line.

He seems very polished to me and moves with confidence. He has a real presence on the floor. He could easily help the Jazz right away. I just worry that Minnesota will take him for themselves or someone else who trades for their pick.

No one on the Jazz ever gets fired.

Just the players that found themselves in Jerry's dog house. Maybe Gordon Chiesa, who 'took another job' after the DWill Chris Paul debate.

Jerry: Greg I quit, I'm worn out, not motivated and haven't even been trying the last ten games. My assistants have been covering for me and the players won't listen to me anymmore.

Greg: Ah, Jerry can't we just keep going like it has been till the end of the season?

Loyalty is a virtue, but virtues can become your weaknesses when carried to extreme.

KOC is in a unique spot-- he convinced the owner to trade away the franchise point gaurd, the team missed teh playoffs and the Jazz were paying luxary tax the past 2 years....If he misses with the third pick...he might decide to retire.

Personally, I think the Jazz will take Kanter if he's still available. I think they all see Millsap as either a backup or trade bait. They aren't dumb like some posters here that believe he's the next Malone. Al Jefferson isn't untradeable either. In fact, I doubt many in the Jazz are crazy for him. They were merely trying to save face and get something out of Boozer. And although KOC might feel good about Favors, I don't think anyone is confident enough in him right now to warrant passing up potentially the best big man in this year's draft.

Yes yes yes, we'll hear all these comparisons of Knight and how we're trying to find a replacement for Duron.

But ultimately, the Jazz will go for the BPA. And I feel that come draft day Kanter will be on the top of everyone's list at #3 (if he's even still available then).

I also have confidence in kicky's uncanny ability to predict the future. He was right about us winning the #3 spot. Why wouldn't the rest of his prophecy come to fruition?

i know that he is a consistent jump shooter, but about 3pt range im not sure. He has tools to make it if he works on it, but noone expect him to be a Memo from 3pt range right away

I have honestly had this same thought more times than I'd like to admit. As stupid as that is.
