1 loss, many more to come sucks to start the season this way with all the hype but at least Neto was impressive and too bad Burks couldn't pull off that dunk
It's game 1. 81 to go. We got this... Playoffs here we come!

But you have always said that Burks can only score against poor interior defendersMaybe, but it would have been great to see him take it at Drummond on his heels. I know Drummond is a good interior defender, but put pressure on the refs to make a call.

He needs to play as good as he usually does. He is the max money guy and face of the franchiseLol no way.
1. Hayward played the best perimeter defense on the team.
2. He made what would have been the game winning shot if anyone played defense on the following possession.
He definitely didn't lose us the game. He didn't play nearly as good as he usually does, but there are a lot of other reasons why we lost.
Well that's just trey. Get used to it. It's been happening for yearsHayward didn't look like his normal self(a lot of that was calls) but Burke destroyed any chance we had. He destroys possessions and gives up easy baskets on D. He is like Kanter but he can't rebound and has a much worse offensive game. ie he's not an NBA player. He was a great college player but that's because there was less athleticism and a 35 second shot clock. Srsly we would be lucky to get a 2nd rounder out of him.
I was all about cj over treyC.J. McCollum has 22 points in the first quarter vs the Pels.. Posters here love to play the Schroder can't shoot angle, if the Jazz wanted a shooter they should've drafted CJ doe, not Trey...

So he did the right thing by not challenging drummond then..... According to your past critiquesI don't think I've ever said only, he just excels vs. them and isn't as good vs. ones who know how to contest him. That was kind of validated tonight I guess.
I think this was an ideal game to start the season off with. Coach Snyder and Van Gundy were playing chess all night, and the Jazz got to test different line-ups in a tight-game situation.
Quite a few positives:
-- Favors was very efficient and has more confidence at the FT line.
-- Hood was dominant from mid-range and guarded Reggie Jackson fairly well overall in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
-- Burks is confident and drew 7 FTAs.
-- Neto looks like he'll be able to knock down a few shots.
-- The triple wing played shut-down defense and concurrently scored on 4 straight possessions in crunch time.
-- Gobert was rarely out of position defensively and played under control.
Problems:
-- 3-pt. shooting
-- Trey Burke
-- Joe hesitant to shoot or drive
-- Rebounding from our 2nd unit
Well hayward definitely played worse than we need him too. We can agree on that I guessYou cant always play as good as you usually do. No way was he the reason we lost. Our team has to be able to play without Gordon carrying every night.
nice comma

Everyone but Favors played worse than we need them to.
Gobert got 0 offensive rebounds and feel asleep on an important clutch play.
Burks scored at the end to help us out a lot, but other than that it was another game of mostly individual offense without any other contributions.
Burke was awful.
Neto was alright. Forced some weird *** shots.
All the backups were all poor, besides Burks.
I'll be the first to admit Booker's value is often over-stated around these parts but I think they really missed him tonight. A couple of hustle plays and a few rebounds by him with the second unit might have made the difference.
Trey Lyles certainly didn't distinguish himself. 0 points 1 rebound and a -15 in 8 minutes...yikes.
Burke played? Lol
