The Jazz made 3 or more threes in every single game last season. Tonight, in the first game of 2015-16, they made just 2.

I want to say at least burke wasn't chucking up shots, but he probably went too far in the other direction really. 2 shots (no threes) is not enough from one of our 'scorers' off the bench.

It sucks we lost this game. Hayward underperformed and too many players underachieved. Feel free to do something, Lyles.

Noone on the Pistons exploded - it was a good, mostly-consistent performance by the their players.

I expected the Jazz to win this one.

How sad is it that I'd rather have Steve Blake than Trey Burke? Burke was simply awful.

Not sure why Withey didn't see any minutes, thought he would have been a better choice than Lyles.

I'll be the first to admit Booker's value is often over-stated around these parts but I think they really missed him tonight. A couple of hustle plays and a few rebounds by him with the second unit might have made the difference.

Trey Lyles certainly didn't distinguish himself. 0 points 1 rebound and a -15 in 8 minutes...yikes.
Ya, Booker was definitely missed
Trey lyles isn't ready to play yet

Bottom line is that the Jazz won't win many games if Hayward is as silent as he was most of the game against Detroit. He needs to be better.
Yep.
Burks, favors, Gobert, hood, kind of played about how you would expect.
Hayward, not so much

Gobert got 0 offensive rebounds and feel asleep on an important clutch play.

Rudy was slow to react, but it was more Hood's fault. On a play like that you need to overplay the baseline and force your man to the middle, where you have Rudy waiting. I think Jackson surprised Gobert that he was able to get clear to the basket like he did.

Nah, pretty sure 100% of defense now play force baseline all the time. Actually, SVG might be the only coach left who forces middle anymore. I know that was a thing when Corbin coached. Corbin and SVG where the last coaches to force action to the middle.

I don't mind Hood starting over Burks, but he has to hit 3's or its pointless to start him...

And Hayward, I know you worked out and put on muscle to bang down low, but Everytime you lower your shoulder the refs will blow the whistle on you!!!

Not it's not. Do you watch the spacing when Burks is on the floor vs. when Hood is on the floor. Teams probably play 2 feet closer to Hood than they do Burks off the ball.

I wasn't able to watch any of the game due to work. But looks like we really struggled from 3. I'm curious how Burks looked off the bench, I noticed his plus-minus was pretty low
