What's new

Utah Jazz @ Miami Heat - 11/12/15 - 5:30pm ROOT

I didn't make a statement. I asked a question.

Learn the difference.

Well the way it was asked made it sound as if you thought the jazz could go small and force out Whiteside. You didnt ask if that could happen, you asked if Quin would use lineups that would (kind of insinuating that you thought we had a lineup that could force out Whiteside).

Kind of a scary thought.

The Jazz are giving up the most FTA's per game by a pretty significant margin (30.7 FTAs allowed per game, 2nd highest is 28.7, league average is 24.25).

As bad as that looks, it's even worse when you consider that the Jazz play at the slowest pace in the NBA. Adjusting for pace, per 100 possessions, the Jazz allow a staggering 33.37 FTs per 100 possessions. The league average is just 24.94 FTs allowed per 100 possessions.

We are #1 in the NBA in opposing FG%, and although team's have shot decently from 3 against us this year, we are allowing the 3rd fewest 3s per possession in the NBA. But we are only 5th in defensive rating, by and large because we can't keep teams off the foul line.

We use hands way too much on defense and we have started fouling on questionable fastbreaks (ones that I feel we could stop without fouling). It seems we have adopted the Euro philosophy of fouling on fastbreaks to stop them. Great strategy by our friends over the sea, but in the NBA, refs are much quicker with the whistle so getting into foul trouble early is certain death.

Don't have a good feeling about tonight. Bosh is a stretch PF nowadays and shoots about 5 a game. Tough cover for Favors. Whiteside is all roided up and a tough matchup for Gobert. Wade uses that elite pump fake our defenders always falls for.

I don't see the reason to risk to play Gobert tonight, if it was a playoff game then it would be another discussion.

Pleiss or Whitey deserve a chance to show up.

I want Gobert to beast all over whiteside. I'll be like :( if he doesn't paly but I'll be like :( :( if he plays hurt and has a bad showing and I'll be like :( :( :( times infinity if he plays and gets hurt worse.

It's not fair. Gobert twisted his ankle probably because Lebron James is an *** hole. He put stupid Lebron James jerk mojo on our stud and now we have to go through this. Arrrggghhhh, I hate Lebron James, I hate the Cavaliers(stupid ****in name), and I hope Bin laden comes back from the dead to destroy Cleveland.

PS If Rudy is ok I'll get over it. Sorry for the rant Cleveland, "medications" bet you can't eat just one.

I'd just settle for someone setting their river on fire!

With Rudy out, I'd like to see Booker and Lyles with solid defensive effort. I'd also like to see some of my colleagues naked. That doesn't mean it's going to happen, though.

Just when I started thinking tonight might not be so bad (as Trevor Booker has typically played very well when starting), it comes out that Trey Lyles is starting.

I fail to see how this could possibly end well.

really Cool how much Quin trusts rookies. Could you imagine the lineups if Crobaine was running the show still?
