I highly doubt Crowder gets benched or his minutes limited below 20. He's not the kind of guy I think would deal with that well. Remember he was the one who got really heated when the rumors of the Celtics signing Hayward came up because he didnt want to lose his starting spot.

Niang needs a season with the trainers before he sees much court time IMHO. He looks very out of shape (NBA relative).
 
Crowder will pull it together. I actually think every player on our team is in a position to succeed. These guys support each other.

I agree. I think quin rolls with jae even if its not the best option.

He still has some weight to lose but he’s always in the right place on defense... he can shoot pass at a high level and is a great ball handler for a 4.

He won’t replace Crowder, but he might get time in the first 5 games with Thabo on suspension. If he plays well he may be a permanent part of the rotation.

People sleeping on him like the slept on Joe years ago. Don’t have to have rippling biceps to give suckas buckets.

Also, dude has an old school post game... so I'd actually love to see a wing guard his old man moves. Could be a way to create some shots in the second unit.

He could be our best 3-point shooter, even better than Jingling.

No, he got mad when the fans in Boston were cheering on Haywood. I dont remember it ever being about him worried about losing his spot on the team

I'm not worried about our starters poor showing, I know we are a better team than we've looked. It's also nice to have some recent game film to go over and highlight what we need to clean up before the games matter.

Probably so... but I came so strong I would have choked you out if you didn't concede the crown.

The Niang bus can have multiple drivers... Niang is not a zero sum bus.

But it demonstrates that he may not go quietly to the bench... as he shouldn't.
 
As soon as Jerebko was let go it became obvious that the FO believed in Niang as his replacement.

If he can rebound at a average level and not be a total sieve on defence, he rates *extremely* well as our backup-4.

Per Andy Bailey on Twitter Niang's per 36 minute numbers this pre-season:

26 pts. 9 rebs. 5 assists on a true shooting percentage of 82% 55% from 3

Look small sample size... two of those teams are from Australia... if this guy plays adequate defense and shoots and passes like this (I mean the volume will be much lower) then isn't he almost perfect at the 4? Outside of getting a guy like KD of course.

I was already too high on Niang and I'm taking it up another 5 notches.
 
Our core players haven't looked great this preseason tbh, not that that means a whole lot. But Crowder's play in particular has been a little concerning.
